Icon14 My expansion team

Well, I'm a huge creation fan...basically, I like fantasy teams. However, fantasy drafts are too easy to stack your team with. Usually, when I make a new expansion team, I used my hometown, but this time I decided to do something different. I made my team the Brooklyn Beach Badboys. I used logo #20 and the Spurs colors with a few color and jerseys adjustments. I always make my team realistic, and only add all the crappiest players to my team at the start, so I can build through the draft like most expansion teams. I play on the HoF difficulty, but I always simulate the first season, and the play after that. I do have updated rosters, so with my luck, you already know my first game played is against the Heat. To build my team though, I used the Blue Chips 2013 draft class. I looked online and can't find them like I can with the other Blue Chip draft classes, so that gave me an extra sense of "fantasy", which I like. As you may be able to tell, the simulated season, my team finished with the worst record, and my luck changed when I won the draft lottery. After that, I traded some of my players (Shaq and Iverson) that I got through free agency, along with future picks, and I got the first three picks of the draft. Usually, I go through the draft once first to see who the good players are, but I actually didn't cheat this time. Instead, I got a solid 20-year-old center who is rated an 85 and is fast and athletic (which is the style I like), then a 19-year-old shooting guard who is rated an 82, and lastly, my favorite, a 21 year-old, 6'11" SF with "B's" across the board except for bball IQ. While I usually only draft 19 and 20 year olds, after working out with the 6'11" SF, the opportunity was just too good to pass up. After the draft, through FA, I acquired the 9 extra players I needed for 12 men. Some notable players: Raymond Felton is my starting PG, Rafer Alston is my backup PG, also I have Brad Miller as a backup, and J.J. Reddick. After I finally started the preseason, I played with my team as a whole for the first time. My entire team is full of rebounding beasts and blocking machines. My team kills on the fast break, and in the paint. My rookie C is like a 2000 version of Shaq, where he is very athletic and can make dunks from anywhere in the paint no matter who is guarding him. Same goes for my 6'11" rookie SF, who is the most well-rounded player on my team. He can shoot from anywhere on the floor, can block, can rebound, and can defend. My other rookie is great, but he does not have a height advantage or anything like that where he can dominate lin all aspects of the game. Overall, I think my team is coming out great, and I would like to know about some of your expansion teams.

Thanks for this idea. Now since the season ended I have gotten bored with 2K waiting for people to make 2011 rosters that are complete to play with. I'm gonna create one of these expanision teams and only put on middle-worst FA's and do an association. hopefully this can hold me off to the end of FA period. nice idea.

Well, I'm not gonna play against my favorite team, so Celtics. My team is gonna dominate with FOUR rookies starting (I traded my PF for a younger, more athletic PF). My only competition is the Heat, for obvious reasons. I haven't played a complete game yet, but my MVP prediction is my 6'11" SF. I only played one half of the first game before I decided to officially start my dynasty tomorrow, but my SF makes LeBron look like Mugsy Bogues.

Re: My expansion team

Just finished my first game. And I know the scores are unrealistic, but if I don't use 12 minute quarters, it feels even more unrealistic, so I used 12 min. quarters.

I played against the Heat, so yeah, you already know, it was a blowout.........in my favor, though! My starters all killed it on offense except for my rookie SG, and we won by 30 points, so our defense was pretty solid, but I can't judge it from that game since it was 3 superstars against 3 rookies. My favorite player, the 6'11" rookie SF dominated all game with 47 points and 8 rebounds! He was 2-2 from 3-pt, and he was UNSTOPPABLE in the paint, posterizing the likes of LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and their 7'0" center. My rookie PF (who I considered my weak link coming into the game) had a surprising outing, with 26 points. Lastly, my rookie center, rated an 85, also posterized everyone and anyone, getting 11 rebounds and 25 points.

Re: My expansion team

2nd game didn't go as well...I lost by 13 points to the Bobcats. It was because I had a whopping 25 turnovers! Next game will be my first home game, so hopefully I show up.

Re: My expansion team

I did something similar in 2K10, just I took a couple of the bench players from the team I replaced (the Clippers) and I played a chunk of my first year, just for kicks. I love sports games when creation is involved, and while your style of play is well thought out, I would greatly appreciate if 2k included an actual Expansion mode option for 2K11.
