How to develop players?

I played/simmed one season with the nets and drafted rookies with high potential ratings but low overall rating. I didn't know how to develop these guys and got mad and started a new association. But how do you develop these guys to make them allstars? Do you just use the development drills or give them alot of playing time?

Re: How to develop players?

You gave up after one season? Its very easy to develop players with high potential as long as you maintain chemistry and win games. Its tough when your losing and have angry players.

I personally think its too easy and players in general progress to fast when winning. My #3 pick SG is finishing up his 2nd year and is already the highest rated at his position and will probably be the highest rated player in the league after Im done the year.
Even my 32 year old 53 rated player who doesnt play boosted up to 58 thru the year. This kinda stuff makes my team too good and I leave to try to run a lower rated team for more of a challenge.
