First three-time All-American at Clemson from 1982-84. Most visible player from Clemson's run in the 1980s. In 1982 Orange Bowl, Perry helped dominate Nebraska All-American center Dave Rimington as the Clemson defense limited Nebraska to just three plays on eight of its 12 possessions as the Tigers won 22-15.

Kinard was named to Sports Illustrated's All-Century team of college football. In 2000 he was named Clemson's top player of the 20th Century by CNNsi.com. He was also chosen to the USA Today All-Decade team for the 1980s. In 1996 he was named to Clemson's Centennial Team and received more votes than any other defensive player.

As a junior, Boulware totaled 68 tackles, a school record 19 sacks, 20 tackles for losses, seven forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. He was a consensus first-team All-American, All-ACC, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, as well as National Defensive Player of the Year by Football News. His 19 sacks were the most in the nation.

Sanders redefined the cornerback position while at Florida State with his rare blend of speed, savvy and style. He returned four interceptions for touchdowns in his career, tied for the most in Florida State history, and returned three punts for touchdowns (tied for the all-time high in school history, often high stepping into the end zone and holding a hand to his earhole in a play to the crowd.
