some 'really big surprises'?: speculation

when 2k said 'there will some really big surprises' in store for 2k11, i immediately thought it might mean a full playoff structure with legends.
almost like having the entirety of Lakers Vs Celtics & The NBA Playoffs inside of 2k11.

Thats all I could think of that would be a really big surprise.
I would imagine they would all revolve around MJ.

Thoughts? Predicitions?

I hope they're talking about the good kind. 2K10 had lots of surprises: glitches, bugs, freezes, server problems, etc.

Re: some 'really big surprises'?: speculation

I assume much of it has to do with Michael and the new controls.

They've already mentioned things like "we've been trying to get him for years as we've had many ideas for a long time that we can now explore". Obviously there have been the rumors on ESPN about 2K contacting past players on teams that Jordan frequently battled in the playoffs.

I think the odds of seeing 'classic' squads from Jordan's era is pretty dang high.

Maybe they'll put in a mode featuring MJ where you recreate some of his greatest plays (like the shot over Ehlo, against Utah, etc), or something. Like Madden Moments.

Then again, I suppose you could do all that stuff in Situation Mode.

As fantastic as that would be, I'm pretty sure they couldn't get the rights to every player in league history to re-create historic playoffs.

They can't top the Jordan surprise, unless they create historic moments which I pitched a few years ago.

No, I don't think they'll have ALL the players from the 90's. I think it will be something like key 'classic' squads.

When you really think about it, they already have all the big ticket names since they've added Pippen, Rodman, Ewing, Drexler, Dumars, Hornacek, K. Malone, etc. in the last couple years.

You got all the key star Pistons, Lakers, Knicks, Blazers, Jazz players. All they would have to do is throw around some chump change to get guys like Luc Longley, Anthony Mason, Bill Laimbeer, Bryon Russell. That would be very easy to pull off with the cash 2K obviously has.

And even if you're missing a couple guys, I can get by if Buck Williams is not in the game.
