Dual Stick Controls

What does everyone think about the new dual stick control for running after playing with it in the demo?
I really don't feel like it does anything. It feels like the whole lean and twisting the body doesn't seem to make any difference at all.

Maybe its just me, but I kind of prefer the old highlight stick

Re: Dual Stick Controls

FWIW, EA has made some adjustments to the Dual Stick controls between the Demo and the actual retail version. How big of a difference it makes, we'll see.

From the Blog:

• Dual Stick Ballcarrier Control has been improved, making R-Stick moves look and feel more responsive. Also made some visual improvements with turning and leaning animations.

Re: Dual Stick Controls

I'm beginning to wonder if Locomotion was implemented differently in Madden and NCAA. I haven't seen the lean or anything in NCAA like I've seen in the Madden videos. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

I'm with you there. Played the demo plenty, and the locomotion animations seem a bit more dramatic in NCAA than Madden. However, Madden's lean mechanic is more pronounced than NCAA

Re: Dual Stick Controls

Exactly, I feel like leaning forward should make the back fight for more yards, or a defender to miss high and bounce off, but i have yet to see either of these really happen. Also, maybe i am just doing it wrong, but i have yet to be able to truck anyone yet, and i have tried different ways with every back in the demo

Re: Dual Stick Controls

I loved using dual stick controls in the demo.

Using just the left stick I broke someone's ankles during a sharp turn. During the automatic replay I felt so good about myself. I just wish the demo had instant replay.

I dont think that means they are actually disabled. I think that just means that you can not switch those controls to buttons for obvious reasons.
