What is your Greatest Gratification? [EASHL]

There are a lot of moments, that one can have while playing in the EASHL or OTP. However, there are only three that can really change the tide of any game. And they are...
  1. Scoreing a clutch goal
  2. Threading the needle with the perfect pass
  3. Potential goal saving defensive play

So, my question is, which one of the three gives you the most gratifying feeling immidiately after pulling off?

Re: What is your Greatest Gratification? [EASHL]

To each his own. Some people like being the guy to score, some like to deliver that crunching blow on defense. Me, I play LD so I like to make that perfect pass from the point or whereever to setup a teammate for a goal. I remember this one instancewhere I had the puck at the point on the poerplay all 4 opposing players were in the the lane so I decided not to shoot. That's when I saw a team mate out of the corner of my eye streaking towards the goal. So I figure if I could somehow get the pass through he would be wide open in front, as there was a sizeable pocket there. So that's what I did I passed, I have a great pass rating so the puck saucered over one guys stick between his legs, then wen't through another players legs, window of about 6", leading my team mate perfectly, as he was about 10 feet from where the puck ended up when I started to pass. He did one simple deke to the back hand and put her home. It's moments like these that excite me the most. I just love setting people up with the perfect pass

Re: What is your Greatest Gratification? [EASHL]

I probably should have rephraised it from "Scoreing a clutch goal" to just "Scoreing a goal" because that one is probably going to win in a land slide. Ah, the old addage of how one word can change an entire election, has never been more true.

I was pretending I was European. You know how they like to add extra vowels to everything.

Always enjoy setting up a nice goal, but nothing in NHL 10 feels better than scoring a late game winner.

Re: What is your Greatest Gratification? [EASHL]

Scoring a goal is great, especially from the point, and making a sweet pass that sets up a scoring play is very rewarding, but, for me, it would be making a play to stop the scoring chance of the opposition.

I mean, the other teams forward comes in, all dipsy-doodling the puck around, spinning in circles, showing off all his razzle dazzle, trying to set something up and then BLAM!! he gets blasted and turns it over for a break the other way. Just good times right there.

Then there are the players that spend all game trying for the cross-creaser, only to be turned away time and again. Leads to good feelings all around.

And finally, my personal favorite, when a player is on the breakout and thinks they have an easy goal, only for you to come streaking in from behind and make that perfect dive that knocks the puck loose but does not trip the player. Now that is truely a sublime moment and leads to much rejoicing. Well, that and consistently poking the puck away from Mr. Deekey Deke Deeker.
