Option to hide player ratings

I would love an option to hide player ratings.
I hate drafting a player and before I ever see him on the field I know exactly how good he is. I can see his potential so I know how good he probably will be.
Let's say I am not doing well in my running game. I have no ratings to tell me what's wrong so I blame my rb and let him go in the offseason. He goes to another team and starts lighting it up while my run game continues to struggle. This is similar to Cedric Banson in real life.
I would also love to have that "damn this guy is good moment" where I realise I have a special player. In Madden you already know exactly how good he is so that doesn't happen.
Imagine your starting QB goes down so you throw in your backup a 6th rounder. He's shown promise but you aren't expecting much. He's looks very solid and soon develops into a star QB.
I can't think of a player in real life like this.
It would obviously only be for hardcore guys but I would love it.

Maybe add it as a option but good idea i think it would be very intersting and make it more realstic and that what they want don't they?

Welcome to OS.
It would have to be an option as most people wouldn't use it or want it.
It would make scouting more important. I would love team reports on the opposition each week with stuff like:
Offense: Running, Passing
Defense: Running, Passing
Key Players etc...
Then you could decide what you focus on in training for that week and make your gameplan. Just think hardcore players would appreciate a game like this.

Re: Option to hide player ratings

interesting concept..Initially I was not in favor of this...but thinking about it more you are right. This could be really cool. Especially if they added expanded rosters with cut down dates. i would almost have to keep a notebook with my own personal ratings for players to build a proper team from 80.

I like it.

Donny Moore would not like this. He works very hard on the player ratings no way he would ever want them hidden so this will probably not ever happen.

Re: Option to hide player ratings

It would be awesome...

Like above I asked about that before.
Basically I really wanted to get rid of most if not all ratings or like you said..keep them hidden. Then that would make pre-season games, the combines etc... actually matter when seeing and rating talent.
Instead of seeing a WR's rating of a 70...why not have that WR go through catching drills in pre-season etc... Let US determine his "skill"... and make it not permanent...

I rate a WR a 60 in catching because he stunk up the joint... I release or trade him and he ends up being a pro bowler as he just had a bad camp and that really wasn't "him" those days I graded him....

Talk about taking the "Coaching" aspect up a level...

You could then take into account your O and D coordinators ratings! The better the coord the more likely the player you are rating is giving you the "real" him.... Something like that...

We would then have a set amount of time to allocate to each days workouts... So if I just really only need or want a FB that is a blocker...I won't waste training time to take him through any catching or running with ball drills...

Anyways nice thread...!

Re: Option to hide player ratings

The best thing about this like you have all recognised is how it would then make other things really matter. I really don't think Donny would object as most people would keep the ratings on and if it makes the game more fun for people I doubt he would care. With franchise mode being rebuilt I would love if this made it in.
