Do you use the L-stick when batting?

Do you use the L-stick when batting or are you a timing-only guy?

I am timing-only. I try and use the L-stick, but I'm terrible at it.

Re: Do you use the L-stick when batting?

I used to but I found myself striking out too much and rolling over on a lot of pitches. Now I just use timing and have cut my strike outs considerably and still hit the ball well

Re: Do you use the L-stick when batting?

Yes I use it everytime except on 3-2 counts. For some reason I made a rule when I first started playing the show 3 years back that I had to use the L stick unless the count was full. IMO just hitting the button makes it less realistic because in real baseball you can't just swing, you have to swing up down in or out. To each his own though, that's what makes this game so good....differet ways to play.

Re: Do you use the L-stick when batting?

Started out using it when I first got the game, sucked.

Switched so I didn't have to, then played a couple games using it again against some friends and did well, so I'm gonna go back to it on my franchise now that I got the timing/eye/pitch recognition down some more

I don't use it that often, but sometimes

I think the best way to practice using the L-stick is to take a few at bats in a game or batting practice and just concentrate on moving your cursor to the ball, don't even worry about swinging.

Re: Do you use the L-stick when batting?

What?! I just found out you DONT have to use the L-Stick? Haha.

I use PsychoBulk's sliders on All-Star and have used the L-Stick since I purchased the game. I average around 6-8 strikeouts a game.

But it is hard trying to manage where you think the ball is going to be and if it is a strike/ball, even before the pitcher pitches.

So you gents just use timing and don't even touch the stick?
