NHL11 to have Goal reviews!

Some leaked info on a swedish sports forum.

What's not mentioned in the interview but in the article is that Ramjagsingh mentioned that there will be GOAL REVIEWS... which has also been semi confirmed by some of the CD atendee's.

And Manual passing as a default setting is also mentioned in that article.
[Edit]: Misread that. It's actually mentioned that "manual passing was an option in NHL10, but EA has now taken the decision to make it available for most game modes..."

Interesting. I wonder if there will be a cutscene in the Zebra circle when there is a review? I hope they also show the ref taking the headset and conferencing with the officials upstairs or whether the war room will be consulted on tough calls? Maybe we'll find out more next week.

This is awesome but how does this work? I haven never seen a goal called incorrectly.. It is either in or its not. I have played over 3,000 games of NHL since NHL 07 and I have never once seen an incorrect call on a goal...

Re: NHL11 to have Goal reviews!

It's abit annoying... they have stumbled on some hot information, but the article is just written like a small note. I can't really tell if the writer of the article pushed the questions or making some stuff up.

Translation:
Don't Hit the puck with a high stick!
What's not mentioned in the interview with Ramjagsing is that there will be a goal review. So the ref will be able to approve or disapprove doubtful goals when there's confusion.
So like real life, the ref will be able to call the video goal judge to see if the puck went in correctly.

Re: NHL11 to have Goal reviews!

I actually had a goal last night that went over Brodeurs shoulder and hit the netting(full puck over the line and touching the net in between the crossbar and post), and it dropped on the goal line. He swiped at it and sticked it to the corner. Def a goal. Would have tied it late too. A lil disappointing. Oh well, next years release should be amazing.

Yes, I translated the article into english and it said "Finishing line cameras and goal reviews will be in NHL 11 according to Rammer (Co-producer nhl 11)."

This has also been confirmed by a community day attendee via EA NHL Fourm

I've had goals go in that were not called goals. Also this will be sweet for a little extra suspense when goals trickle along the line. Lastly, goals batted out of the air that are hit above the post will be disallowed.
