Best HRs you ever hit playing the show

This thread is about our best HR stories. This about big, game changing HRs, not HRs that went 450 ft.

Here is one of mine:

1) This morning, I as the Mets played the Cards at Shea Stadium in MLB 09 The Show in Rivalry mode. The game was tied at two as we approached late innings. Mike Pelfrey was pitching solidly, giving up only a HR to Prince Albert and and RBI Hit. Then he gave up a triple to Adam Kennedy with one out in the fifth and he would score on a wild pitch. I was able to get Pujols out in the fifth. Pelfrey pitched six innings and gave up three runs. In the seventh, my bullpen gave up two more runs (Rocky Cherry) and the score was 5-2, and then it came down to the bottom of the seventh. Reyes pops out, then Castillo and Wright both get base hits. Chris Carpenter, who pitched well for 6 1/3 Innings was pulled by LaRussa. They bring in Trevor Miller to face Delgado and he strikes out. Then Beltran batting right with two strikes gets a clutch RBI single down the third baseline and Castillo scores. Then Ryan Church came to the plate. Ryan Church took a pitch and then foul one off. Then Miller (I forgot the count) threw a pitch down the middle, Church swung at it, and then Shea went into a tremendous roar as the ball went into the Mets bullpen in right, and hit the cage where reliever JJ Putz was warming up. We would win 6-5 and K-Rod the save, and Pedro Felicano got the win.

BTW, I was able to see the flight of the HR because I turned off the HR Celebration Camera. Best thing I ever did playing this game.

Yankees vs Red Sox rubber match... top of the 11th... Arod in the box... the whole stadium chanting "over-rated!"

Papelbon brushed Arod back on the first pitch... then leaves a meatball down the middle...
SMASH over the green monster!!! turned out to be the game winner!!!

I jumped out of my seat when i hit it!
This game seriously brings you in emotionally.

Down 6-4 in the 9th of the World Series in my RTTS, two men on base, my player steps into the box against Francico Rodriguez, works to a full count, then I hit a monster walk off home run to center field to win the game 7-6.

I will never, EVER forget that.

Re: Best HRs you ever hit playing the show

i have 2 inside the park homers with carlos santana. Just hit his 2nd one in my last game. Playing at home (O's at Indians) the CF tried to dive for a liner and missed. It rolled to the wall and he was trucking around. He barely made it past the tag for his 2nd inside the park job of the year.

he ended up smacking to total HR in that game for me. August 15th and Carmona is now 20-2 on the season and those 2 HR gave me the breathing room i needed to get the win for him

Began my SEASON MODE today : PHiladelphia at Washington:

It’s a real pitchers duel between Halliday and Lannan. Score tie 1-1 till the top of the 8th. Utley goes yard with a man on and it’s now 3-1 Philly. The Nats get one back in the bottom of the 8th on a solo homer by Willingham. Adam Dunn hits a homer with 2 outs on a 3-2 count in the bottom of the 9th against Lidge. It’s now 3 all. Top of the 10th, Philadelphia gets a run. But in the bottom of the 10th, Morse hits one out with a man out and the Nats win 5-4!fficeffice" />>>
> >
Now listen to this: the roving camera follows Morse around the bases. He's so thrilled he forgets to touch 1st base. Goes back and touches it and rounds the bases. While he approaches home plate, all his teammates are waiting for him. He throws his helmet in the air, gestures to his teammates to clear the plate... and jumps on it while he's being mobbed. There all dancing (like in real life) and the high fives are flying! Then, the camera switches to the Phils dugout where you see the losing pitcher (Chad Durbin) throwing his glove in disgust against the wall! Truly incredible! I thought I was watching a real game on TV! There was even a collision at home plate earlier in the game, but the catcher held on to the ball and the Nats runner was out! I have never seen such realism in a video game in all my life! I thought I would share this magic moment with you.>>
Truly, that baseball game was for the ages! Yogi Berra was right : It ain't over till it's over! GO EXPOS GO !!!

Was playing my friend, he was the Rays I was the Braves. I was down 7-3 in the 8th, got 2 runs across then McCann hit a 2-run shot to tie it. Goes into extras, then in the 12th I get the bases loaded, McCann up, walk off grand slam. 11-7

Re: Best HRs you ever hit playing the show

I remember hitting 2 walkoffs so far in my season, one with Pedroia, another with Cameron.

The best came earlier in the season. I believe it was against Baltimore, but I recreated what the 2007 Red Sox did - hit 4 homeruns in a row. Got it started with V-Mart, then Youkilis, Lowell then Beltre.

I've also hit inside the park homeruns with Drew and Beltre.

2 run home run in the top of the 9th at Fenway off the Pesky pole by Morneau. It was an absolute line drive and took only a few seconds to get out.
