Chicago Bears Den

Well....it's about that time. And as usual let's start with some comedy.

But Angelo, talking to the Bears’ website issued something of a Dave Wannstedt “All the pieces are in place” declaration, saying, “If we take this football team into training camp and into the season, I’m fine with it.”
Ugh, been down the road before.

We still have no secondary. Does 6-10 sound fair for the season? That's my guess.

Eh...I prefer to remain hopeful.

If Peppers can provide a disruptive attack on opposing QB's and Harris can get healthy and not worry, as much as in the past, about double teams...the front four can free the D from so many blitz dependent schemes. Urlacher can still drop back into passing schemes screwing up many teams reads agianst the Tampa two.

Alot depends on if the O can score. If Cutler can put points on the board and put the Bears in the lead...The D can adjust accordingly. It's a shame we're still so "stop the run" in what looks to be a growing pass happy North.

Our defense needs to hold up this year... If our secondary does at least decent, we can maybe squeak into the playoffs, I don't think it's happening this year though.

Everyone is talking about Julius Peppers coming here, but I'm excited to see how we utilize Brandon Manumaleuna. Jay Cutler loves to throw to tight ends and now he has two really solid TE's.

I wonder about that from a team philosphy stand point. We really need to be able to stretch the feild more to open up the running game and take some pressure of the D. Tight end routes tend to allow the opposing D's to still crowd the line and easily blitz unless Cutler can make all the right reads.

Wow on NFL.com they rated the bears 28 behind the chiefs which is just sad .... i wish they would of kept Hester at just returning kicks and what not ... i miss the feeling of seeing him returning a kick for a TD .... but that is the past and i really hope that mike Martz can really make a difference ... the 2000 rams where rated the worst i believe in the NFL and they went to the Superbowl that year so i hope that mike has the same impact on jay as he did on Kurt Warner. i feel the bears are a 9-7 to a 8-8 type of team right now with how well the NFC NORTH is getting

So...is the fairly "quiet" off season so far (knock on wood) a good thing or bad thing?

re: Chicago Bears Den

I'd say good. Although the organization did give the famous "all of the pieces are in place" proclamation so we're screwed there.
