How to be RTTS MLB MVP in 3 years.

First off I’ve done this 3 times now, once with a centerfielder on the RedSox, a shortstop with Cubbies and working on 2nd Baseman for my Dream Team Mets.
After creating my dude I put all my training points from game 1 on into RHP Power until I it reaches 85. Right handed pitchers out number lefties about 3 or 4 to 1. That should take you a little more than a quarter of the season. After reaching 85 in RHP put point in to LHP Power till you reach 70 and this should take you about 2 or 3 weeks after the ALL Star break. Keep in mind your coach is going to be pissed at you for not adding points in Def but don’t worry about it for now. Now for the rest of the 1st season put your points into Contact RHP first to 55 then LHP to 55. If you have more points left over and you make the playoffs put the rest of the points into RHP Power. If you’re lucky you’ll hit 90. Your should be about .270 to .300, 8 to 12Hrs, over 50 RBIs and about 14 to 20 errors (shortstop)
Year 2 is when you make your name. First off get your RHP Power to 99 then get LHP Power to 90. You should be able to get this done before the ALL Star Break and you should be an All Star based on your Hitting. For the rest of the season keep knocking balls out of the park don’t worry about you manager, he might bench you for a few games here and there but keep hitting HRs. For the last month and a half put you points into Fielding. Do whatever combo you want to get you rating to a C. By season’s end you should look like this.
RHP Power 99
LHP Power 90
Contact LHP & RHP 55
Over Fielding C
Everyone plays different but with these numbers at the end of my 2nd season I average 40 HRs hit over .450 and had over 150 RBIs with a few errors. I had a few 30 game hitting streaks so that help with points which isn’t too hard to do. Power is everything in baseball, the hell with speed, the hell with defense, the hell with bunting… Yeah you might drive you manager crazy and you might get a hate mail or 2 but with this method you should always start your 3rd year in the Bigs. I’m on my 3rd RTTS dude now, made it to the Bigs again at the start of year 3 and for the first 30 games these are my numbers (I’ll have a screen shot if no one believes me) AVG .475, 12 HRs, 34 RBIs and 2 errors playing 2nd base.

Damn you're in AA with those numbers? I hope you don't have a Superstar at your position in the Bigs.

Re: How to be RTTS MLB MVP in 3 years.

This is exactly what I was saying in a topic I made awhile ago. Power plays way too much a factor in batting average for user hitting. I'll choose to hit with a guy with 75 power/50 contact over a guy with 50 power/75 contact any day; however, in real life, i'll choose the contact hitter every time. The problem is the other batting attributes like vision and discipline that play a pretty big role for CPU hitting only play a very small role for user hitting. It's pretty much only contact and power, and power is completely overpowered. And, if you use the power swing, which there is no reason you shouldn't, then it's even more ridiculous. The hitting is this game is still far too easy even on Legend difficulty. User hitting needs to be reworked.

Re: How to be RTTS MLB MVP in 3 years.

This is why RTTS is so unsatisfying after a bit of gameplay. The points ruin everything in regards to progression. Yes, points work quite well from a franchise perspective, but RTTS is dulled down by the spending sprees.

But don't expect RTTS to be any different any time soon (at least from SCEA) as they will polish up some menus, add new manager goals, and throw in a new mini game here and there.

It has been painfully obvious that Potential Ratings and Training Points are here to stay.

I think the mode being used should be a factor in how many years it might take to be MVP. In Hall of Fame mode it might take 6 years instead of 3 years.
