Best Stadiums in College Football

What are your Top 5 Stadiums to watch/play a football game in ?

1. Beaver Stadium (Gotta Love Happy Valley)
2. The Swamp
3.Neyland Stadium
4.Autzen Stadium (Been there and I have a new love of duck horns!!!)
5.The Coliseum (Homer Pick, but 95,000 screaming fans? Experience of a lifetime)

I know some of you Michigan fans are gonna cry about The Big House, but I went to a game a couple years back it was great. Cold , but great. My cousin just graduated from there this past weekend. Anyway It's too big for me. To sit in the stands it felt like I was miles from the game so that's why it's not in my top 5. OSU and The Shoe. The Domers in South Bend, I love Touchdown Jesus but sorry. My next trip is to Huskie Stadium against Nebraska this year.

Anyway, what do you guys think ?

Re: Best Stadiums in College Football

I fly out a few times a year to watch the Gators play in The Swamp. I don't think I'll ever experience anything better (maybe birth of my children...maybe) than being in Ben Hill on gameday. Great atmosphere, great fans, just a great time. It's like my heaven on earth. I haven't been to a TON of other college football stadiums, probably 15 or so, but nothing will compete with The Swamp in my eyes. Nothing beats watching your home team on their own turf. I do want to check out a few other stadiums though. Beaver stadium, Neyland, The Big House, Death Valley, etc.

Re: Best Stadiums in College Football

In the last 2 years, I've been to both the Rose Bowl & the Coliseum to watch Arizona play UCLA & USC. The atmosphere at the Coliseum was way better than the Rose Bowl, & even though the Rose Bowl seats more, the Coliseum looks huge in comparison. the good thing is though we had both places quiet while I was there.

And then of course my homer pick in Arizona Stadium. It only seats 56,000 (expanding to 60,000 in 2012), but it gets pretty loud. We have the largest student section on the Pac-10, and when there's a big game, it gets hyped.

Re: Best Stadiums in College Football

I have been to quite a few stadiums (ALL BigTen Stadiums, Hawaii, Notre Dame, Arizona, & a few bowl games). Now i havent been to any SEC schools, so i cant compare those.

If you want Best (in terms of Loudness):

* Ohio State -> Mind-numbing Loud
* Hawaii -> I know this is very surprising but this place gets LOUD!!!
* Wisconsin
* Iowa
* Penn State

If you wan Best (in terms of OVERALL ATMOSPHERE)

* Purdue --> gotta stay loyal
* Wisconsin
* Ohio State
* Penn State
* Michigan

Arizona & USC are far down my list. I was very disappointed in the atmosphere at a USC game. I went to a PAC-10 game, and it was a yawnfest (granted USC killed UW), but even the tailgating was subpar. Arizona was a blast after the games, but just wast that impressed with the atmosphere (though very nice field).
