Where is the concede/offer mercy options for online play on next-gen???

Why is the only option for online play a friendly quit?? I was playing a guy on Friday who got some lucky breaks on me (2 fumbles, TD) and midway through the second quarter its 28-0. This was a guy who never punts or takes FGs and the thought of finishing out the game was pretty unsavory one at best. So I went to the menu to concede and give the guy the win so we can both quit wasting our time but it's not there. I usually just play friends so this isn't an issue and I didn't even realize that these options weren't there.

I remember we had concede and offer mercy options on the PS2 so why are those not in the next-gen? Without these options people are forced to either play a long, lopsided game or see their DNF% go up.

the same thing could be asked of from Madden regarding supersim...at least in NCAA if ur online opponent does quit, you can supersim the game instead of playing it out or taking a no decision...

just another example of how the best ideas from each title seem to always remain one or the other but not both...

Yeah man, I mean why would they remove those options? No one wants to sit through a game that's over and simply waste your time.

They didn't remove those options. I don't remember the rules (I haven't played a non-OD online game since Octoberish) but you can concede or offer mercy if the following applies.
1. It's at least halftime. (If you tried to concede in the 2nd quarter, that's too early). I guess they figure that if the game is still early, you're not out of it yet. You can always chew the clock if you want to hurry up and concede.
2. You must be losing/winning by "X" number of points. I think it's 14. Again, if you're losing by a few points, they figure there's no need to concede. I have purposely let a cheeser score enough points for me to concede defeat before.

I think it's stupid though you have to wait and also the points thing, if you're willing to give up the game for whatever reason then you should be able to concede at any time regardless of the score.

I'm 95% certain that the point limit, and especially the time limit is necessary. We all know that there are cheesers who only care about winning no matter what. If there were no time limit on concede then I guarantee you that the following would happen.

Player 1 plays all of his buddies and they concede after the kickoff. Player 1 does this constantly and before you know it his record is 30-0 in an hour. A day of this and he's 360-0. In order to cheese like this with the current system, I think player 1 needs to choose Florida while his buddy chooses the worst team. His buddy quits and player 1 finishes against the CPU (he won't get a win if he doesn't finish the game). Player 1 then supersims the game, and since it's Florida vs. some horrible team, he'll likely win.

Sure no one would get to 360-0 in a day using the 1st method, because it's too suspicious and they'd get caught, but I guarantee you that people would pad their numbers by doing it. Since there's people out there that care about rankings (I'm not one) EA has to implement their current concede rules. This is just another example of how cheesers make the game more of a pain in the *** for normal gamers.

That's all great points I never thought about. Maybe they should go from a w-l outright record to a point system, like a win against another person is 100 points but if you take on the same person again and beat them it's only worth 90 points and etc etc. They could also do something like if you beat USC with a midmajor team you get 120 points, that sort of thing...
