Hitting question about same pitches over and over

So my friend likes to use pitchers with sinkers and sliders like Derek Lowe. He mostly always will pitch a sinker low and to the outside corner to left handed batters and a slider low and inside to righties. Most of the time it's a strike. My problem is that I can hardly ever get a hit off them. I guess the pitch and location and still either ground out or fly out. I started pushing the right stick in different directions and got a home run by pushing up and hitting for power but that was my only real good hit I got all game. Same thing goes for the slider. I guess the location and pitch and still can't get too many hits.

What the heck am I doing wrong? I seem to get more hits using power over contact. Help!

Re: Hitting question about same pitches over and over

The power swing is much better than the contact swing for pretty much any hitter that can put up about 15 HRs a season. Pretty much before 2 strikes just look for your pitch and take anything else. Probably a lot of his low sinkers will miss low if you just take them. Then, he'll have to come up at least a bit to where you should get at least pitches around thigh high. And, pressing up with the right stick helps influence you to hit fly balls so keep trying that.

I tried taking his sinkers but most of them were strikes so I just kept striking out looking. I have tried the method you described and I'm still not really hitting at all.

I would mention turning off guess pitch. It messes with your contact and solid hits. I wish they would remove it from the game because it causes lots of problems with hitting.

Make sure you swing late and take it to the opposite field. If you try to take it back up the middle or pull it you will make weak contact. I have a friend that does the same thing with the Braves so I just started going opposite field on everything. He stopped after a few back to back singles.

I did try going opposite field. Again, grounding out. I've pushed the right stick that way, down and up and still can't solve the stupid pitches.
