RTTS problem: windup/stretch speed. Looking for workaround.

I've searched through the tips/tricks thread and the glitches thread, but haven't found a workaround posted. I apologize for my lousy searching skills if I've missed one.

The problem occurs when pitching in RTTS mode. My created starting right-handed pitcher will have a glitch in his pitching motion a couple times a game. Most memorably, it happens with runners on base when pitching from the stretch. It should be noted that I'm using the pitchers view camera angle, and my pitcher's default motion is some sort of full windup (not like a reliever that always throws from the stretch). The glitch happens in two stages.

1.) On the first occurrence, the pitching meter and windup animation will be in super-fast motion, much faster than normal. This makes it nearly impossible to throw an accurate pitch and usually results in a bouncer or wild pitch.

2.) On the very next pitch following part 1, the meter will return to its normal speed, but the pitcher's throwing motion animation changes to a strange, stiff-legged side-arm delivery which can affect my ability to hit the release point in the meter (usually resulting in meatballs).

Thus far I haven't been able to predict when part 1 of the glitch will happen, but it has always been followed by part two. I've tried editing my player using several different deliveries (both generic and player specific) with no effect. I saw somebody else reported it as a bug, but is there any way to work around the problem in the meantime?

I've seen this, too, but I'm not sure that it's a bug. Since I use meter pitching, I'm staring at the meter and not necessarily my pitcher, but I believe the super fast motion is when your pitcher uses a slide step. The slow one that usually follows is just a slow delivery where the pitcher kind of kicks his front leg back, loads up, then goes towards the plate. And the "normal" delivery is in between. If this is the case, then I don't have a problem with the different moves (in real life, it would help keep the runners close), but I do have a problem with not knowing when the slide step is coming.

I've seen this too bud...I played two years in the minors with my RTTS pitcher and am now 10 games into my MLB career (with the Brewers no less - yuck - please let me get traded lol) and I've seen this happen quite a few times.

It doesn't happen every game and does seem to happen more often from the stretch, which makes me wonder if it's related to the PCLT rating or some other "hidden" attribute dealing with pitching in clutch situations. OR - it could just be a bug. Dunno. But it is a pain when it happens. I've seen it enough times now that I can tell when it's going to happen from the second my pitcher starts his windup, and in those cases I just double tap the X button and hope for the best.

I'm pretty sure if your pitcher starts to preform bad (guys hit and get on base, you walk) your pitching meter goes faster based on clutch.

Definitely seen this before, but I'm not sure what triggers it also. Seems like a bug though.

Only somebody who has no idea what we're talking about would say this.

It's definitely a bug, because it happens when I'm batting in RTTS too. About once a week the opposing pitcher will have a windup that takes about 0.1 second (which by the way, is impossible), and his next pitch will be sidearm. I have an RTTS pitcher in the majors and this happens on average about once every 100 pitches or so. I've mentioned it several times but I've never gotten an answer. This is a new bug to the MLB series.

Happens to me the first time i get 2+ runners on, it seems. Usually results in throwin' one to the backstop, the antithesis of clutch.

Re: RTTS problem: windup/stretch speed. Looking for workaround.

it happened to me when my rtts pitcher first started off......i noticed it happened mostly during big moments during the game if he would get rattled(ie..2 hit in a row...etc).....once i got his pitching cluth all the way up it didnt happen as often. It still happens but maybe only once/twice a month. Also i noticed it works for me if you notice he starts doing it, press L1 and step off the rubber and start over and pick a different pitch. That works for my guy almost all the time. Not everytime but probably 90% of the time.
