the battle of the three QB's

im on the english path and was thinking, why does everyone like jack english so much?
this is about the first draft class, and about the battle of the 3 QB's, jack english vs. dane morrow vs. kelly james, now almost everyone thinks english is the best of the three becuase of his high pot, and the weakest has to be kelly james becuase he has the lowest pot of the three and that it wouldnt matter if you drafted him of jake scott becuase they have the same pot, now you may disagree with me but i think the weakest of the 3 QB's is jack english, not becuase he has alot of weakness's but becuase of kelly james and dane morrows raw talent. personaly my favorite is dane morrow, he has the quickest release in the game, he wins games and when given good WR's(that are easy to find in the english draft class) he can be truely deadly. it can go either way between english and james but i choose james becuase he has a slightly quicker release than english and to me he produces better than english, plus can be signed to a lighter contract

what are your thought about these three QB's

Re: the battle of the three QB's

I'm on the path right now, and I traded up from 3rd overall to get English as the 1st pick, and while I don't regret it, I think I easily could have picked Dane Morrow and been just as happy, while getting some value for my #3 overall AND saving money. If I were in the same position again, I think I'd have traded down to mid/late 1st round and picked up Dane instead. Tampa Bay picked him up as #30 overall. Morrow and the Buccs went to the Super Bowl his rookie year, and he won rookie of the year! He's "inferior" to English by the slimmest of margins, but he's 1/5th the price.

Dane and Jack are both ready to start out of the box. Kelly isn't unless you've got complete crap in your QB lineup to start with. Kelly is more of a project in my eyes.

thats weird that you say that because i always saw english as a project that when done right is great but with kelly, in my career's has always developed very quickly. did tampa have good WR?

the nice thing about having dane morrow is that you dont need good O-line because of his quick release

Re: the battle of the three QB's

I have Morrow as my starting QB with my Bears 'chise. He is AMAZING. I don't throw the ball a lot. Last season he threw 22 touchdowns and 5 picks. He generally makes good decisions but he isn't good at throwing on the run. I run play action passes a lot and on rollouts, he throws the ball at the receiver's feet a ton.

Tampa always drafts a good QB in mine. It is unbelievable. Because of their coaches, he becomes the greatest QB EVER.

I have never seen English truly dominate. In one, he was stuck behind Matt Ryan in Atlanta so he wasted away. In my current one, he plays for the Ravens. He isn't spectacular, throwing 28 touchdowns and 20 picks a season, and the Ravens struggle mightily under John Harbaugh.

I will post again about James after school.

Re: the battle of the three QB's

dane morrow works best in a super pass happy offense like shannahan's zone blocking, in this offense you really only need one star wideout and he will be fine, but there is play actions passes galor in shannahans offense but in the patriots passing attack there is not alot of play action but this also needs alot of good WR's to be affective, but its worth it, in this offense he gets around 50 passing TD's and 7-10 interceptions, thats a normal year.

In my opinion English has always been the best decision maker and thrower on the run but Dane Morrow is stronger and better throwing deep and has a quicker release. never had Kelly James

Have English on a team with Michigan Spread as the offense. He can be an interception machine on certain plays, he never seems to throw slants well but if you figure out his money plays he is gold. He is really good on play action passes, shotgun plays, things like those. But he has thrown some 5 INT games too in the first year.
