Hardcore Passing/Pass Assist?

Alright so I love Hardcore Passing EXEPT one thing, IT TAKES TO LONG FOR THE PASS TO LEAVE THE STICK (have to hold the Pass Button for longer than I want to).

Now I noticed (about two weeks ago when my Box was working) when I play with Hardcore Settings but turn off Manual Passing and turn on Pass Assist to 1 notch that I didn't have to hold the Button for nearly as long as I did with Manual Passing On.

I didn't think anything of it, but now that I look back on it, it seems like a Great Idea.

It could of just been my mind but I swear when I had Pass Assist on 1 I had no Delayed Passing, my passes were just Way Off (it was like using manual passing for first time without the DELAYED STUFF).

CAN ANYONE CONFIRM IF TURNING PASS ASSIST ON GETS RID OF THE DELAYED PASSING (having to hold Pass Button for a while before pass leaves stick)... EVEN WHEN ASSIST IS AT 1?

Re: Hardcore Passing/Pass Assist?

Emerica, I don't have my game now available for testing but if I remember right...

If you turn on pass assist (even 1 notch) then passing in general becomes "not-manual" so what you are experiencing is "normal" passing. And it doesn't have that "lag" (=time it takes pass to leave your stick). So, without testing I agree with your thoughts.

Again, if you turn the manual passing on it will "turn off" the pass assist slider and then the passing becomes "slow".

Re: Hardcore Passing/Pass Assist?

Manual passing is an option within hardcore settings, so it is possible to play hardcore without manual passing. Having assist @ 1 will give you the most freedom in aiming your pass without going manual. However, you will lose the ability to control the speed of your passes (ie, holding the button for harder pass). But it sounds like you don't like that aspect anyways.

I might go to hardcore manual passing, but i also don't like the delay, especially when u need to get the pass off quick.

Re: Hardcore Passing/Pass Assist?

Do you guys getting delay have the patch and tuner updates? I thought it improved a lot after the patch (it was one of the mentioned changes). Also, make sure you're pressing the trigger all the way in, as a full press -- even if it's quick -- results in a fairly hard pass. It's the softer not-all-the-way-in (wow, that sounds bad) trigger pulls that result in the soft passes. Which can be good in certain situations, too.

Ya I am not a Fan of having to Hold the Button in, I noticed when I first got the game that if you press the Button Good and Hard (all the way in) then the pass is Harder.

It just seemed to me that with Pass Assist on 1 that the delayed button press got Reduced DRAMATICALLY. Which is good I want to be able to Control my passes (Hardness, and Location of pass) with out having to hold the Pass Button for longer than IMO you should have to.

Its just a Setting that I played with once and didnt think to go back to that setting. But now I think that it might be my new Pass Setting, I want to use Manual Passing but everytime I try it I get frustrated cause of the "Button Lag".

Re: Hardcore Passing/Pass Assist?

Maybe QB and I are just delusional, but I am able to get passes off very quickly with manual passing. There is nothing like seeing a perfect finesse drop pass between the legs hit the stick of a teammate and get shelved.

you guys must just be used to it, I CANT STAND IT.

I play Real Ice Hockey and I before I can think PASS my pass is already on the Other Guys Stick.

Just seems Unrealistic to have to hold the Button for even a half sec and by then your Time has been cut down so much that your pass gets EASILY Intercepted cause it took too long to leave the stick, Might just be my EXPERIENCES though. (im sure others dont feel the same way)

Im going to try Pass Assist at 1 and Pass Accuracy to 1 and see if I like it.

I LOVE the Freedom of manual passes but HATE the way I have to work the Pass Button to get the PASS you want. So if I can eliminate the so called "Lag" and still have that Manual Passing feel (without having to HOLD the Button) then I WILL BE IN A WHOLE NEW STAGE OF MY NHL PLAYING.... and will be so happy

Im going to try it Later

THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS KEEP THEM COMING, ANY INFO OR EXPERIENCE HELPS ME AT THIS POINT
