What about UT?

Everybody is still talking about the Kentuckys and Dukes of the world as the team to beat, but I haven't heard the first whisper about the only team in the country this year to knock off two #1s and is still alive in a wide open region.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I think Tennessee is the best team left in the field as that would be both naive and nonfactual. They have had a lot of ups and downs this season between the big wins on the court and the big losses off of it. No matter how you slice it, though I like the position they're sitting it to make a serious run at this thing. Pearl is a good coach and gets that team up to play big games. I'm not saying I expect them to beat tOSU, but I wouldn't be surprised. If that happens you really have to like their chances against NIU or MSU.

Re: What about UT?

Probably because they've had the easiest road thus far in SDSU and Ohio.

If Tennessee were to play UNI, I'll take UNI after that Kansas win.

That has a lot to do with it.

Tournament play is different than regular season. Ask Kansas. When UT beats someone of consequence in the tourney, then we can start to make a fuss about them.

Re: What about UT?

I don't think Tennessee is good enough to win it all, but with regular season wins against both Kansas and Kentucky, they're more than capable of knocking anybody out of the tourney.

Re: What about UT?

Tenn is way too inconsitant to win 4 more games in a row against good competition.
And like the poster above said they have not played anyone yet, they have had the two easiest games by far.

Re: What about UT?

I like their chances vs Ohio State because they have athletes that can defend. They will throw a couple guys @ Turner but they need to contain his penetration and kick outs to Diebler.

Yeah they are really inconsistent. They beat Kansas and Kentucky, but then they've also lost to Kentucky by 30. Which team will show up?
