An experiment on CPU offensive AI and sliders.....

here is an EASY experiment for all you guys to do to test the cpu ai and sliders. Hopefully the AI and sliders "passed the test"

a lot of people have been beating around the bush lately on criticizing the cpu offensive AI. Let us get away from blame and speculation and whatnot and do some experimenting.

this is to see how the cpu reacts when the human offense is performing really really bad.

Set cpu hitting sliders to LEGEND and max them all out, Contact , solid hits, power, timing all 10/10 with default user pitching sliders (control and consistency)
and play in SEASON/FRANCHISE mode

THe key to the test, is to purposely suck at hitting and get 1 or 2 hits that game and pitch the game like you usually would. Mixing up pitches, location, etc. If the cpu AI and sliders are truly organic, they will crush you on legend maxed sliders, RIGHT ?

well, the games that I've tested and I purposely sucked at hitting, the cpu offense has been ,well, not very good.

first game : I had 2 hits one run
CPU 5 hits 2 runs and was Ked 10 times

2nd game: I had 1 hit
CPU had 5 hits

3rd game : I had 3 hits 2 runs
CPU had 6 hits 4 runs

As you can see, the cpu offense was a lot worse than I anticipated on MAXED out LEGEND sliders.

I am asking for a group effort on this one to see how the cpu ai really reacts.....no need to ridicule, no need to blame, no need to teach. If you're interested in doing the test....do the test and report results.

Hey, it could just be a big coincidence or I am Roy Halladay for mlb 10......but we won't know unless we do more testing.

Thanks

Re: An experiment on CPU offensive AI and sliders.....

can we please stop the petty arguing? come on now....

there is no definitive point made in my thread....hence the interest for an experiment. This is NOT a thread for people who have their minds already made up.

If you think the cpu ai is definitely awesome...enjoy the game and play it to death

If you think the cpu AI is definitely broken...return the game or play something else.

This thread is for people who want to test the game and decide on their own how the cpu AI is.

Please no more bickering like schoolchildren....

if you don't wanna do 3 test games and report....don't even comment.

Re: An experiment on CPU offensive AI and sliders.....

Just one thing. There is no ZERO in the sliders and there is no 100, if you know what I mean. The lowest the slider will go is about 25%, for example. I've said this before when people were afraid to run the sliders all the way down last year. Running them down, or all the way up is not as extreme as you might think.

Just so you know. SCEA does not use the all or nothing theory like 2k.
