You guys having much luck? I'm not. With fast players like Ichiro, Chone etc.. I lead off 3-4 times let go on first movement and am thrown out easily every time.

Is there anything else to do other than the 3-4 step lead, hold down the trigger and let go when the pitcher makes a move?

Only steal from pitchers with long delivery.Im successful six out of ten times.

My user profile says I am 11/9. I've been caught 3 times w/ Victorino and twice w/ Werth. I have a 3 SB game w/ Fred Lewis as well. 11/9 is after playing 1 month, and playing various games for the Pirates, Phillies, and Giants.

I can't steal for the life of me, but mine probably has to do with pitch speed being at 90. Honestly, I've gone to only trying to steal on pitchers who move their foot a tiny bit right before they are about to throw it.

I once had a 4 step lead with Ryan Theriot(82 speed) got a great jump off of Randy Wolf, he threw a 70 mph curve, and still got thrown out by Greg Zaun who has a 66 throwing strength.

So I think it might be possible if you have the pitch speed at default, but if you have it way up like me, good luck.

Pitchers easy to steal on:

1 John Lackey
2. Felix Hernandez
3. Yovanni Gallardo

For others , look at a replay of an attemted steal in slo-mo and you will see that 3 quarters of the way it seems that the runner changes stride ( as if the game is waiting for a user input and then the slide animation kicks in ) that is the cue for the slide timing which is cued very early this year. You should be able to steal with runners 87 + speed.

Are we suppose to manually slide? Because I have noticed the hiccup in their running when they are about to slide...
