the blue flash

anyone seen this thing that flashes across the screen after each pitch?
it seems to be skipping some presentation aspect?
if thats the case, i hope this can be addressed.
was this in 2k9

it seems the real time pres. is not there, maybe this blue flash is part of the problem?

Re: the blue flash

I see the blue flash but only when I press A to skip through parts of the presentation. Make sure you have the real time presentation turned on in the settings and don't press buttons between swings etc or it will skip.

Yep. Everyone is seeing that. It was on the list of bugs submitted to 2K.

Even with the "Hurry up" option off and not pressing "A" to skip, it's still going to be seen.

However, there's discussion that this may be as intended by 2K to speed up the game. IF that's the case, they did a poor job and I really hope the fix it.

I for one want the animations back...

Re: the blue flash

Now I know what you are talking about and it stinks. Before the patch I never had warping when at bat or pitching. I do not have fast play on and am not pressing a button but right after the pitch, before my batter can even finish some of the long swing animations or pre-swing animations it gives me the flash and warps to the next pitch. Same with pitching. I used to have ample time, sometimes too much time, before it would bring up the pitching choices. Now it warps right after the pitch and I am back ready to throw another.

Before there were sometimes when it was too long of a wait but at least I had the option to skip it is I wanted. Now I get the warp no matter what and have no say inthe matter.

No, it was always in the game. The patch didn't change this. You are probably noticing it now since it's been brought to your attention.

It isn't a bug. I've discussed this at the 2K Forums. With a little keen observation while playing, you'll see exactly why they put this effect in in-between pitches.

Sometimes when you hit a foul ball, the screen will stay long enough for you to see the batter walking back inside the batters box. However, the player snaps back into position after the animation that has them step back.

It looks like VC added a bunch of step in and step out animations, but they are not continuous animations, they are separate. You notice that batters will step back into the box in many different ways between pitches? They also step out after swings in several different ways. The two animations (step in and step out) are separate and are not blended. To rectify that, they added the cut to smooth the transition instead of letting us see the snapping into place when the animation changes.
