RTTS Pitching Velocity Problem (Solved)

Please don't merge this thread with the other RTTS thread..that one is already too long and it's not really going anywhere.

Ok, as you all know there seems to be something up with the RTTS pitching...a lot of people can't get their fastball up to the reported speed on their scouting card even with all velocities raised.

The problem is that certain pitches lower your velocity if you have them in your repertoire from the very beginning. But without them you can hit high speeds relatively early.

Edit: Alright a few of us in this thread figured out the problem. It's adding certain pitches to your repertoire from the very beginning.

I have had several different RTTS starting pitchers and I was having the same problem so I decided to try and build up the velocity evenly together, and with my 4SFB at 62, CUT at 58, SPL at 56 I already had my fastball getting up to 90-92 MPH from the original 87-89 so it seems you have to build up evenly from the get go.

I later added a changeup, it has a velocity rating of 49 and my 4SFB has not been under 89 even after that. With all my previous pitchers I built up the velocity for the 4SFB and the control/break for my various off speed pitches. This laltest time I have exclusively built up my velocity for all 4 pitches and it seems to be working like it should.

I would like to see if anyone else tries this, maybe thats the loophole???

So you had a 4-seam FB, a cutter, and a splitter and you dumped points into all of the velocities at once and they were all within 6 points of each other. Then you added a change up later and the speed of your fastball was unaffected.

Another person with the first 3 pitch velocity ratings near each other and none of the pitches were a changeup. Could the changeup be the problem?

You should both compare your player's specifics, such as player position and so forth.

I don't think height and weight matters. But I'm a lefty using Kershaw's motion.

You know come to think of it every other pitcher of mine started out with some form of the changeup...either ,palmball or changeup and this time I did not...that certainly looks like it might be the problem.

Your control numbers are all much higher than his also. I wonder if that has something to do with it. Maybe it won't let you go all out unless you can control where it is going? I don't know, just brainstorming here. I've never done a RTTS pitcher, so I'm sure I'm not much help, but those are the major differences I see in the photos.
