Classic Stadiums ... not so much

First off - I want to SCEA you guys did an AMAZING job with the classic stadiums. They truly come to life. THANK YOU for their inclusion in the game. BUT I gotta say - maybe you guys did too good a job. With the exception of the Polo Grounds - I find the classic stadiums BIG and kinda empty. I feel like the crowd is too far removed from the action and seeing the gigantic Wood/brick backstop as opposed to low fence with the advertisements just throws me every time.

I was one of the people begging for classic stadiums...but after playing the likes of Camden, Safeco and PNC Park - I can't go back to playing in the old stadiums. It just doesn't feel "right". What can I say - I am spoiled by the new stadiums and all their bells and whistles.

What you guys think - you prefer the old school vs. the new?

I will use Sportsmans Park when I play in St Louis. I've been in that new ballpark and it is designed for the sports bar/luxury box crowd. Sportsmans was a blue collar ballpark and a game there feels like baseball.

It is worse than that, the new Busch just is not a very good place to watch baseball.

I have played in all of the classic stadiums are really enjoy them. I have found they provide a pretty realistic depiction of what these ballparks were like. Considering I spend my summers at Wrigley, I love old ballparks.

I love the classic stadiums. Sony, please include more as soon as it is possible. You did a great job. The more the better. It seems great to finally see them in The Show. History is a big part of baseball - more so than any other sport, and it's fantastic to finally have them. Thanks Sony!

Re: Classic Stadiums ... not so much

I agree I hope they are readying some classic stadiums from the 70s/80s as I write this..........one small thing however that I think should be remedied:

THE TURF NEEDS TO BE MORE BEAT UP with random dirt patches also because the turf tech was not what it is today where it is just like carpet (also in places like Baltimore(Memorial), Pittsburgh(Three Rivers), Cincinnati(Riverfront) & Oakland: as the season goes on it should reflect the fact that the stadiums are being shared by football teams as well--therefore, where it is a grass field: faded lines of not fully erased football fields should be seen in the outfield AND where it was the original/lime-green astroturf: it should should show the repair patches here and there). Also would be great to see Kansas City play in Royals Stadium & the Phillies play in Veterans' with the astroturf too.
Great to see this finally coming into a great baseball game...............Now if only they could get the Pirates/Orioles(bright orange)/ChiSox(funky bermuda shorts?) late 70s unis too (along with Pittsburgh's hats)
