How to make players imported to madden 10 be good?

The title is a little confusing, but I've been wondering this forever. What are the key factors to a player's potential/ratings in Madden 10 in regards to NCAA 10 draft classes?

For example, no matter what I do Eric Berry has D potential and is rated like 50, even if I set almost all of his skills to 99. I get Aldarius Johnson (WR Miami) up to a 99 each dynasty I make, and he typically breaks a bunch of NCAA records and wins the Heisman, but he always sucks when imported into Madden. Colt McCoy is almost always A potential and like 85 when drafted while Clausen, Tebow, and Bradford are C's and in the 60s for overall.

Does anyone know how to make the imported players better? Is it predetermined or determined by how well they do the season before being imported or is it their NCAA 10 ratings?

I say it is random and here is why. I have loaded the same draft class that is saved to my hard drive a number of time and got different results every time. One time McCoy was a D potential and the next time he was an A. Suh has been every where from an A to a D potential. I have even been able to get Eric Berry as a B potential but he is always a mid-rounds pick. This crap is why I have given up on the NCAA imported classes and go with the preloaded drafts. They are better and I think EA meant to do it that way. They have the Head Coach team working on them.

its confusing.... i tried alot of things as well and its random but not that random for me. i imported the same class 20 times to check this and its pretty much the same. a few jumps in overall but not alot to make a difference.

ive been wodnerin the same thing. dez bryant always come in with Q potential and he usually comes in madden in the 70s, but ive never had Colt come in higher than a 60 with D potential. MceElroy usually comes in pretty good. Eric Berry always came in in the high 70s with A potential, but i just started a new one with a different draft class and he came in in the 50s with F potential.

This is proven, the only way to make them better is increasing their size. Give Eric Berry about 15 more pounds and 2 more inches and he comes in a complete monster

Shouldn't the drafts be more random anyway? Just because a player is a beast in college does not always translate to the pros.

true, but i dont think they should be locked into a certain potential right upfront. u hav guys that come in as Fs already n theres nothin u can do about it. at least bring back training or somethin so i can at least try to make a player better
