Blue's Varsity set

Upon request I have decided to put up my sliders that I and 4 other people are testing and working on. There have some slight adjustments already...but I am no ego-maniac. Please chime in and let me know what you think.

I have 4 people trying these out...please give me some honest feedback after you get 4 or 5 games in....thanks

Varsity 16-18 min ( depending on your style and team)

Shooting foul frquncy 90 (65)
Reach in foul - 65 (67)(64)
Charge/Block foul 70 (68)(66)
Basket cut/Indicator on
Fatigue effect 80
Free throw diff - 51 (52)(49)
Boundary force field - 90
In air collision 60 (68)(66)

User/CPU
Steal ability 38/40
Interception ability 71/75 (75)
shot block 19/30
dunk/layup 50/50
Off rebounding 46/12 (50/10)
Def rebounding 43/75 (48/73)
Fakeout discipline 50/46
Short range 43/66 (46/64)
Med range 47/65
Long range 45/76 (48/74)
dunk % 50/50
Lay up 50/50
Drop step eff. 52/70
Sink or swim 52/50
Def post str. 52/50
Shot alter ability 48/52 (52/48)
Fight thru screen 51/51 (55/45)
hands in post 50/45
hands on perimeter 50/45

Left game speed at default...that's up to you

This is a good base. I use the Irish who have a strong front court game...and an avg to good back court. I have beat teams by 25 or 30...have lost to teams by 10 or 12. Most of the games are good, fun games though. Just do not fall into the trap of playing one game and changing sliders.

This game is notoriously inconsistent form game to game....and sliders need to be adjusted accordingly after a minimum of 4 games. I played a weak team on the road, then at home, then I played a better team on the road and at home........and I took ND's stats in real life and tried to put these together...

If anything, I hope you have fun with these and feel free to contribute with any type of feedback...as it is appreciated.

Bob

UPDATED 12/04 changes in red

Some of the foul sliders settings, I must give credit to Authentic for.

Re: BLUE"S Varsity set

Do you get realistic scores playing 15-min quarters? If so, how do you play?

I play 20-min quarters, but I still get realistic scores. But a game takes a while to finish.

Any help is appreciated.

And I might try this set later.

I play 15 mins and I tend to score high 60's very low 70's. You could taket it 16 or 17 and be fine. I really let the game dictate how I play . If I have a speed advantage ....I will push the ball up court...if not, I tend to move the ball around and use motion. The most I have ever scored is 84....thats not the norm though.

Re: BLUE"S Varsity set

I played 20 minute halves and got a score of 64-57.
I was Murray State vs Radford. Decent sliders.
I got some good looking stats. The one thing I hate about Varsity is that the CPU goes to the post 90% of the time. Otherwise, statistically, the game plays great on Varsity.
It's just the way the CPU accomplishes this that frustrates me.

Re: BLUE"S Varsity set

Playing as Wichita St. and after five games averaging 62 points a game playing at 16 minute quarters. Have had scores from 56 to 90 so I think the time is perfect there.

I will say the sliders have been fun and perfect for me. Have had a ton of close games including avoiding an upset against Alcorn St. 56-50. Have had routs too, beating Texas Southern by 30.

I'm thankful I didn't pay attention to the sub-par reviews, because I haven't had this much fun with a sports game in quite awhile.

Thanks for the great sliders Blue.

Yeah.....there is just nothing I can do about the post play, it is what it is( or at least until they patch it)

No problem....I put about 25 games into these trying out just about every scenario at home/road and good/bad teams. What makes it hard is that game plays so differently all the time, and I really had to be conscious of not changing things too often or quickly.

Thanks for the replies.........

Re: BLUE"S Varsity set

I'm still having trouble with my turnover ratio. I play as Toledo and have 3-14 and 4-15 my last two games either I suck or..... no I suck. Love the game though

Well...team ratings will have an effect...but I started out with ratios very similar

I had to learn to make smart passes, be less aggressive in the paint with my bigs( as far as making too athletic of a move ) and not force the issue in any case( well not as many)

Once I did this STL, the ratio slowly started creeping my way. Now when I play, its usually 12-8( just an avg ) in favor of me...
