CPU Three-Pointer/Long Range shooting?

Does anyone get the CPU to take a realistic number of mid range jumpers or 3 pointers? The CPU only takes 0-3 3 pointers a game, and it's ruining the game since almost EVERY SINGLE CPU play is a drive to the basket.

How is it for everyone else?

Yeah I'm noticing that a lot too. The only time the CPU will take a good number of 3's is when it's trailing by a lot of points...and it misses most if not all.
I wish the CPU would take more jumpers instead of going inside most of the time.

Re: CPU Three-Pointer/Long Range shooting?

I have had a problem with this, until the last game I played. I played against Detroit, and they shot about 15 3 pointers, but only made 3. I'm definitely going to raise the CPU 3 point success slider a little.

I think this is because one of Detroit's main focus was to take and make the 3. The other teams I've played haven't had that, and as a result only took about 4 each game.

You have a point, Duke.
However I'm right now watching a CPU vs CPU game, Southern Illinois at Mizzou.
They're taking all kinds of jumpers and 3 pointers.
I think the only game that I've played that had a good number of jumpers/3 pointers was the first game I played...hmm...

Re: CPU Three-Pointer/Long Range shooting?

Its been hit and miss for me as well. I played LMU vs Montana and Montana was 4/15 vs me. I played zone so I wonder if that has anything to do with it, might be the most threes I have seen against me.

The CPU doesn't seem to pass it around and shoot jumpers within the flow of the offense, probably due to the fact it doesn't kick it out of the post. Been on varsity though so maybe that is a reason? Need more time to look at this as well.

This. I think part of it could be Varsity. I've noticed that playing a 2-3 zone tends to make the CPU take some more shots on the perimeter...however the zone, at times, can be too effective.

Re: CPU Three-Pointer/Long Range shooting?

its the defense your playing... when i run a zone they shoot more...man they shoot next to none. im close to having real solid sliders...i got a request to post what i have now.. will do so when i get back on. The one thing i hate about the ai is they do the same thing offensively all the time. They usually get it to short corner and take lil shots and get lots of second chance shots... thats what ive been workin on gettin they offensive reb down. The one thing about sliders that throws me off is i dont wanna make it too low and good teams be bad. but like im close to getting it

Michigan took 32 threes against me on Varsity, 20 min halves.
