Re: What does the force field boundary mean?

Basically when you are near the out of bounds area, depending on how high or low the slider is, will determine how easily you can step out of bounds. If it's at 0, then you could just run out of bounds with no "force field" to keep you in check(which is realistic because there is no force field in real life haha)
If it's kind of high then you hit this invisible wall unless you really really try to go out.

Re: What does the force field boundary mean?

ndhusker90, given your explanation, why do you think they even put this in the game. Sorry if I come off as clueless but I'm scratching my head wondering why they didn't just make it 0 and not have a slider for it. Is it to make the game feel more like an arcade game? I'm trying to figure out why I would want it higher so I can adjust my sliders. I'm afraid I might be overlooking the obvious. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Re: What does the force field boundary mean?

Cane, I'll try to answer your question to the best of my ability.
I would like to preface this by saying I'm not 100% that is what the Boundary Force Field means, it is speculation(given that EA has not provided ANY explanation of what that means, but I believe I saw someone say what it was a while back)
It is ridiculous, I suppose there are a few moments where you may unintentionally go out of bounds due to a game issue(maybe lag? IDK), and the force field would somehow prevent that...but it's really a non-issue if that's what their angle was.
I really have no clue why they put that in the game.
And if I am wrong about what the Force Field thing is, please correct me.

Re: What does the force field boundary mean?

Thanks ndhusker. I previously had mine set at 25. I've moved it to 10 since reading your first post. I'm not sure I've noticed a difference but then again I've only played one game since.

Re: What does the force field boundary mean?

it makes the game more like RL. Players going out of bounds before the ball is thrown in things like that. I have mine turned up becuase it bugs me that my players seem to just walk out, like they have no brain. Players just dont walk out of bounds five times a game...

It also has to do with driving the lane. The player has a sort of "bubble" around him. The higher the settings, the harder it is to drive the lane, the lower it's easier, but more of a likelihood of getting stole from or blocked on the layup.
