Free agency list in season mode????

Is there a free agency list in season mode? If so how on earth do you get to it?

I've released guys to change their teams and now I can't go get 'em.

And what would you do if your roster is short due to injury????

Re: Free agency list in season mode????

I asked 2k tech. support and they told me "sorry for your inconvienence, it will be addressed in the upcoming patch". You know. The one we just had? So I have made it a point to call them everyday and ask when this issue will be fixed. It's a toll free # so call 'em if you like. Although it probably won't do any good. This, IMO, should have been fixed w/ a patch the day of release. It makes that mode unplayable for those of us who used and looked forward to it. I think this might be their way of telling us not to look for season mode in later editions of NBA 2K as Assoc. is their primary concern now. Which I agree. It should be. The season mode itself is all but extinct in sports games as it is. I loved the mode b/c I just wanted to play a full season, playoffs and so on with the real life team rosters w/o all the micromanaging such as player's moral and all. I by no means think that those (Assoc.)options should not be in the game, b/c I know that the majority of the game's fans love the aspect of being able to act as GM, coach, player and so on. I have learned to like the mode(as it is my only way of playing w/ accurate rosters this year). Also, to 2k's credit. They do make Assoc. as hands on or off as you want your experience to be. It was just the fact that for myself and others, season mode was just perfect for the NBA gaming experience I crave, as I'm sure Assoc. is for other die-hard NBA fans out there and trust me. I am as die-hard a fan as any. I know I'll probably get slammed for saying this, but I wish they would forget about blacktop or whatever it's called and focus more on making the primary game the best B-Ball sim. on the planet(which it still is. Again just IMO. I know I don't speak for everyone. So please don't slam me for this post.) Maybe release the Blacktop and secondary options as D.L. content. Just an idea. I know they are hampered by a short Dev. cycle b/c of the game's yearly release and I realize you have to please the majority of your customers. I just hope season mode does not go the way of the dinosaur. Sorry about the rant and the length of the post. I hope I answered your question. Good weekend to all.

Re: Free agency list in season mode????

thanks reeftan for the explanation as I was just about to come on here and ask the same thing. I guess we can try tweeting Ronnie 2k about it but that sucks cuz I already started a season figuring I'd be able to make the FA moves that happen in real life (although in this case Earl Boykins isn't in the game and I wanted to add him to Washingtons roster) Speaking of that, it doesn't like look you could create Boykins and add him to either a season OR association, unless I'm missing something?

Bro I just have questions before I start my assoc. mode. "do i have to control all the teams in the assoc. mode? to be able to trade, release, waive and sign free agency?" I know the season mode is missing a bunch of functions but do i also have to control 30 teams to be able to trade and release players to have a so called realistic rosters? Thank you for your time, I hope you could help me... kinda dissapointed about it cuz like you bro, I play the season mode and not the assoc. but I guess i have to switch this year... hehe thanks again

yes you can release guys, just apparently not sign anyone to replace them which I don't quite get. just go to your roster and click on the guy and it'll give you the option to release him
