I've notice it since 2K9. There's a huge lag when ever I'm (USA) playing someone from asia or europe with the PAL version of the game. It's not the lag where the framerate stutters. Everything is smooth but we've have to release way everything early. And the hardest part is controlling your player... it feels like you're moving with a drunk player.

is this a bug?

I had the same problem last year in 2k9. He was in my league (Australia).....But do they have the PAL version?

Australia uses PAL.

It's just frustrating for both players. Making the game unplayable.

Its funny you mentioned this...because last year. I had problems shooting with LeBron (super late release) vs everyone in the league. So I would drive with him. But when I played this guy. Maybe because of the lag. But I use to shoot lights with LeBron. To the point where I scored 50 on him in a game 7 of the championships for the league.

i'm no tech-guru - but believe it IS the geographical distance involved that messes with the gameplay ?

heck, you can play a PAL/NTSC multiplayer vs game in the same city and not get lag.. so i'd guess that rules out formats causing this right ?

I think I know the reason why.....

In the US we can stream and download at any rate. But in places like Asia and Europe they have bandwith restricts or bandwith limits. Where if a person goes pass their limit they come them off to very low bandwith. Where they barely get a connection to play.

I dunno man... but every single time I play someone from PAL region there's a lag everytime. I play quite a few because I usually play at 2am central time.

Usually when it lags you get the framerate stutter. But this is silky smooth but the response time is late.

Any folks from the PAL region who plays online care to comment?
