Does this scream ratings boost for D-Jax?

"Philadelphia wide receiver DESEAN JACKSON had a 54-yard touchdown reception in the Eagles’ 40-17 win over the New York Giants. Jackson became just the second player in NFL history with six touchdowns (four receiving, one rushing, one punt return) of at least 50 yards in his team’s first seven games of a season. Jackson joins Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver ELROY (CRAZYLEGS) HIRSCH, who had six touchdowns of at least 50 yards in 1951 with the Los Angeles Rams, as the only players to accomplish the feat." nfl.com

Doesn't that scream 100 speed?! If not 100 speed at least a point more. Whaddaya say Donny?

Yea speed, agility, and acceleration all need to be maxed out, and they need to just give him his 90+ overall rating already!

If anyone gets 100 speed it should be Chris Johnson.

If D-Jax gets 100, or even 99, speed then Chris Johnson needs to be a 103.

What really pisses me off is a guy a lot of you may not have heard of, Jacksonville's KR's speed. He has been hurt most of this year so Thomas has been carrying his load, but this guy is fast. Brian Witherspoon has a 4.16 40 time and only has a 97 speed. It's just stupid how they rate some of these guys.

Does he play to the level of his 40 time? Thats the question. Mario Manningham ran a 4.6, I believe, but is a real burner on the field. Jerry Rice and Terrell Davis fall into the same category. There's also guys like former Titans runningback Chris Henry, who ran a 4.3 40 but was not that fast on the field. Chris Johnson, on the other hand, ran a 4.25 40 yard dash(the fastest recorded at the combine ever, mind you) and actually plays to that speed. He puts on the pads and is still the fastest guy on the field every sunday.

40 yard dash times do not translate to football speed. Not even a little bit. The 40 yard dash, as used at the combine, is not so much a way for coaches to measure speed. Why? Because speed is evident on film. You don't need to look at a guy in shorts and a t-shirt running on a track to find out if he is fast or not. A 40 time is all about technique, not speed. It tells coaches and scouts if a player is dedicated to learning technique, not how good of a runner they are.

How do you judge NFL Speed? How can you tell if someone has 100 Speed or not? I do not understand - do the guys at EA go to the games and hold up a radar gun and follow the player as he runs down the field after he makes the catch?

EDIT: I think they should just use their 40 yard dash speed and let the Route Running and Release be the telling stat of a burner
