Ultimate Roster for Every Team
Hi,
I've been doing this every year with my 2K games, creating a league with the legend rosters, creating players as necessary, in order to make the strongest and most exciting teams possible. For the first time, I'd like to share my plan and ask for comments - as I'm sure I won't have configured it as good as possible given my limited knowledge.
Here are the general guidelines I follow:
-It's only starting 5's I'm primarily concerned with - no fatigue
-Players have to play for a (any) team they played for (T.S. for young expansion teams like the Bobcats)
-No doubling up - so Shaq can either be in Orl, LAL, Mia, Pho, or Cle
-OKC is Seattle Sonics. So Kemp, Payton, Durant, etc...
-It's team names, so if they were once elsewhere, that's OK.
Then there are a few guidlines which are personal taste/go by feel. Generally, I:
-Prefer recent players (one's that I've watched in my lifetime)
-Try to strike a skill balance on the team - e.g. of the 1, 2, and 3, they shouldn't all be slashers with no jumpshot
-Minimal work - I like to use the players I'm given by 2K where possible so as to reduce the painful work involved in creating players, especially since the addition of more variables and ratings
-There are some concentrations of power that are too hard to refuse (like reuniting the old "Run TMC"), but I try to balance the strength of the teams where possible
-Much of it is sentimental - who I LIKE to see play together
These latter guidelines aren't strict and as should be apparent reflect in part my laziness when it comes to creating players. So please offer me your any suggestions that might spur me to create some unmissable players in the roster. I'm aware improvements can be made...
