Pass Defense...

I know this has probably been brought up, but the pass defense in this game is HORRIBLE...Ive tried sliders, man cov., zone coverage, everything...I cant even enjoy a realistic N fun dynasty bc this just kills it even if we are good...maybe its something Im doing wrong, IDK, it has never been this bad in an NCAA game...if yall have any tips or know the best realistic slider, PLEASE let me kno.

Look, if you want to have a good defense, start a dynasty with Florida and sim all the games. Look at the stats at the end of the season and there you have it!! Good defense!!

do you use the gameplanning feature? Do you spotlight receivers? Do you use the pass committ feature? Do you double the oppositions best receiver? Do you know the strengths of your DB's?(man coverage/zone coverage)

Pass defense against the CPU is horrible. I don't even try it because there are too many AI cheats for the CPU generated offense. I, like man, play offense and sim the defense. Heck, the CPU generated offense is better than most human opponents I play. It is easier to play human opponents than it is the CPU.

I have no issue with pass D... after all, I played 09 and we all remember that nightmare.

This exact issue is what led me to stop playing NCAA 10 and sell it. I could never get my defensive backs to try to swat down the ball. The only thing I could do was turn down the cpu QB accuracy and even that didn't make it realistic.

Where the heck did the development team go wrong over the last two years? I mean, even NCAA 08 on the 360 had reasonably realistic defense (I had a great time with that game because I was able to get realistic stats and scores playing against the cpu).

I think the bottom line for what the problem is, is that the development team is spending too much time working on the online portion of the game and not enough on the single player Dynasty vs the cpu. Gamers want a football sim that plays smart, not an arcade football game with "fluff" features. I wish EA would realize that the majority of gamers still buy NCAA Football for the single player offline Dynasty. I recently read an article where EA was confused as to why the sales for the franchise have been going down every year. This is exactly why and I just wish they would realize it and correct this.

Even with sliders and game planning used, zone coverage is horrendous in this game. It was actually better in 09, IMO.

For all the complaining about the 09 D, I found it easier to play D on 09. There was much more user skill involved, but you could play D on 09. The AI for 09 was horrible on offense. There is no Defense against the CPU on 10 when playing against a B+ or better offense. It is just stupid. You play man on 10 and the CPU always has a slant called. You play zone and the CPU carves it up. You blitz and the CPU cheats so you rarely ever touch the QB.
