Forza Motorsport 3: Official Impressions Thread

Figured guys should be getting the game now...

I'm very impressed with this game so far. I originally didn't have any plans to check it out, but videos and reviews made me bite. When I first cut on the game I turned off the assists, put it in cockpit view and adjusted it to 62 degrees. The default cockpit view was too close, so this works well for me.

Honestly, I think playing NFS Shift a lot has made me appreciate this game more than I would have before. As much as I dig that game, I'll admit that the handling is a bit twitchy at times. Having my car actually stick to the track without sliding is a nice change of pace. The game looks good, drives fantastic, and has a very nice career mode. The depth of Forza 3 is top notch.

It seems that you acquire cars rather quickly in this game. I haven't been playing that long but they've already given me 4 in addition to the one that I've purchased on my own. I dig that you can buy whatever you want from the start. I will definitely be saving up my credits to buy a couple of my favorites.

Early impressions: Two thumbs up.

Does anyone know how many years the career lasts?

Six seasons with each being longer than the last. Took Hil from IGN about 50 hours to get through, and he still had over 150 events he had not taken part in.

You would rather spend real money buying cars for a game you already shelled $60 out for than in-game credits?

Re: Forza Motorsport 3: Official Impressions Thread

I don't have much time to play games, i usually just game on the weekends, so yeah i'd rather spend a small amount to get cars that I want than have to jump through a bunch of hoops in low-level races to get them. It's a convenience thing. I wouldn't if it was very expensive though but in NFS shift I don't think it was very much.

well, if you have nice friends you could ask them to gift you some of their cars. I had a few people on my friends list who gifted me cars every now and then in Forza 2.
