Your worst ever 'GM' moves...

Everyone here I am sure has done the whole "If I were the GM of that team, I'd...................." hypothetical.

And, let's be honest, you've probably come up with some stuff that was a mistake.

In honour of that...list your worst ever move below.

I'll start...I 100% would have taken Emeka Okafor first if I was the GM of the Orlando Magic. I'd have overlooked Dwight Howard and drafted Okafor.

Why? He was coming off a championship...I saw him as Ben Wallace with a 20 ppg offense.

I saw Dwight as being too raw and projected him as being a long term shot blocker / rebounder and pretty much nothing else. I definitely didn't think he had the 'drive' to be a leader.

I still rate Okafor and think he's a good player...but I clearly got the pick wrong.

Be honest here fellas

Re: Your worst ever 'GM' moves...

I didn't think Kwame for Caron was "that bad" when it went through. I didn't like it but I would have never dreamed the trade would be that lopsided. I also said Caron would never be an All-Star again [after making his first as a Wizard].

I thought the Jason Richardson/Bell/Diaw trade was the ultimate win for PHX. In hindsight the trade was probably about even for both teams. Richardson is a shell of his former self, Bell is always hurt and Diaw is once again "out of shape" as stated by Larry Brown.

Re: Your worst ever 'GM' moves...

1990: Chris Jackson with the top pick over Coleman and Payton.

1994: I would have taken Lamond Murray with the top pick. He was killin cats at Cal.

1996: Marcus Camby over Allen Iverson.

1999 Draft: I would have taken Andre Miller with the 2nd pick. He was a do it all guy at Utah

2002 Draft. I was drunk on Chris Wilcox. That guy looked like a Antonio McDyess pre knee injuries. I felt he should have gone top 3

I thought Jake Tsakalidis could have been something nice.

Re: Your worst ever 'GM' moves...

1992: I would have taken Doug Christie 3rd Overall behind Shaq and Zo. I though he was going to be a superstar. Its the most wrong I've ever been about a player.

2005: I would have taken Felton over Deron Williams. Williams is the superior player, but I wish Felton had been given the keys to the car from day one, and not been inexplicably put at the 2 for much of his career.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: Your worst ever 'GM' moves...

I have every single one of you beat.

I wanted Troy Bell over Dwyane Wade. My rational was the Heat just came off a season where they had Travis Best and Mike James running the point and i was absolutely desperate for a point guard. Now being a gigantic UConn fan i am i knew Troy Bell very well and wanted him desperately. Needless to say i was completely and utterly wrong on every conceivable level.
