Angry anybody play with the Warriors?

is it just me are they absolute garbage trying to play with? I thought I just sucked then I tried some other teams and I started winning games. I know they are far from a powerhouse..but I think the way live plays (no run n gun) makes it extremely hard to play with them.

I v read advise on not taking quick shots slowing things down when the cpu is making a run..but sh*t thats how the warriors play..and more so how the team is built..to push the pace and run with small ball.
any insight
thanks!

Re: anybody play with the Warriors?

exactly, you HAVE to run small ball with the warriors to be effective. you HAVE to take quick shots and relentlessly attack the basket. you are going to have ups and downs with that system just as in real life. there will be games you put up big numbers and win, and also some very ugly games too.

you do not have to slow down and run plays when the computer is on a run. you have to continue to attack, but start trying to get to the rim more. if you can score an easy bucket or 2 or get to the line you will slow down the run. this is a good time to call jackson 50 or maggette/monta ISO.

i run with the warriors also and i have some decent success with them. make sure you play exactly as they would in real life.

run plays for maggette on the post.
"maggette drop" is excellent and he will absolutely destroy a weaker SF.

bull your way to the basket with maggette on isolations. (this includes purposely drawing contact animations in the paint with him, he's very effective with those).

exploit mismatches with captain jack. i play him at the 4 and relentlessly isolate and attack slower 4s. he's also very good at attacking the rim and finding the open man. use freestyle passing

on pick and rolls with monta, if you have any daylight at all to the rim, attack hard and utilize layup solutions
. he's super quick and you can get easy uncontested layups for teams who do not play the pick and roll correctly on defense.

use curry and morrow to shoot 3s in transition and spot up.
i like to bring morrow in to backup maggette at the 3, making a 3 guard lineup. occassionally take off ball control of curry and go through a screen to spot up for an open shot. you should be looking for the first good open shot.

don't try to slow down and run many plays, but occasionally call a play for jack, monta, or maggette.

use these strategies and you should see you'll have a lot more success with them. you're going to have some ugly possessions for sure, but that's just like they are in real life

also, try this lineup

C - Biedrins
PF - Jackson
SF - Maggette
SG - Curry
PG - Ellis

Bring in Turiaf as backup C, Morrow at backup SF, Randolph at backup PF.

Another good tip when Randolph is in the game, when he gets defensive rebounds don't be afraid to push the ball with him leading the break. I've had plenty of fast breaks started and finished by Randolph. His handles are excellent and he beats slower 4s down the floor. Also, isolate him at the top of the key and if the D plays you tight, blow by the defender for the easy layup/dunk

Re: anybody play with the Warriors?

no doubt. like i said, randolph is good off the bench, but since he's going to start in real life, start him at the 4 and bring maggette off the bench. maggette should play the most minutes though, like a 6th man who's really a starter

randolph is effective but i'm not sure about BW, i haven't used him much. i have to figure out his strengths, admittedly i don't know a lot about his game

Re: anybody play with the Warriors?

They are by far my best team. So far, with my roomies, im 14-1 with them.
My favorite lineup:
Pg Ellis - A shoe in for 25pts and 10ast. Can get to the lane and finish anytime he wants, and once they stop him with help I have 3 deadly 3 point shooters
SG Buike - Great defender, and knockdown 3 point shooter...handles are a bit weak
SF Morrow - GREAT scorer...will light it up with his sweet J, and can drive if they crowd him. Scored 43 on my roommate last night. He is a HORRIBLE defender, so match Buike on the better scorer.
PF Capt. Jack - Really streaky, but great when hot. Can hit the J and drive. Actually holds his own on the boards, which was shocking at first.
C Biedrins - Does everything a center should and picks up garbage points while hes at it

Bench
Randolph - Ditto what fluent said...great at starting the break
Maggette - Great finisher, but I miss my shooters when hes in
Curry - Mixed feelings...next DNA update will use him alot more since his 3pt % will most likely be higher...J feels really smooth and hits well from midrange

I like to use ellis at the start to stir things up in the paint and get people open looks, and I always push the ball and let loose from 3 with any daylight with morrow, capt jack, or buike. Capt. Jack is great vs PF's in ISO's when I need a clutch hoop and Biedrins gets many O.Reb's to dunk home.

Re: anybody play with the Warriors?

S.Jax is so dominant at the 4 with the mismatches. I only use him at the 4 occasionally trying to play small ball. I have a warriors dynasty and my lineup is:

PG - Ellis
SG - Curry
SF - Jackson
PF - Randolph
C - Biedrins

Maggette
Turiaf
Azubuike
Morrow

9 man rotation
