Rebuilding the Grizzlies(Dynasty)
I started my first NBA Live 10 Dynasty wanting to rebuild a team. I was debating between Memphis Grizzlies, Charlotte Bobcats, and L.A. Clippers. I figured that Bobcats and Clippers have more pieces to do good now(ish), so I chose the Grizzlies who have young talent and need to improve. I did 5 out of my 10 training sessions at the start, improved Rudy Gay, OJ Mayo, Marc Gasol, and Hasheem Thabeet by 1 in each catagory of the drills I did. So far, I love the Dynasty mode. I feel like there is more you can do and better/cooler player progression and other 'little things' that make this game great!
Okay, so I started off releasing Thomas Gardner who had an expiring contract and signed Rodney Carney for 1yr/1.8mill. I then traded Marcus Williams and another player(cant remember) and acquired Anthony Randolph and Anthony Morrow from the GSW. I then moved Sam Young and Marko Jaric to the IR, as I will develop Sam Young and I'm looking to get rid of Jaric. I aslo got C Ryan Hollins.
Lineup/Rotation:
C: Gasol/Thabeet/Hollins
PF: Z-Bo/A.Randolph/Gasol
SF: Gay/Carney/A.Randolph
SG: Mayo/Morrow/Carney/Iverson
PG: Iverson/Conley/Mayo
Game 1: Pistons - L (101-99)
I led the whole game, they mounted a comeback in the 4th to send it to OT, lost in OT due to Mayo fouling out and Iversons 7 turnovers!
Game 2: @ Toronto - L (97-89)
Simulated..
Game 3: @ Denver - L (118-100)
Denver came out on fire, especially Carmelo who had 20 at the half. Nothing was falling for me in the first half, and at halftime I was trailing 56-44. Thabeet, Gasol, and Gay were all in foul trouble throughout the game. At the start of the 3rd, Mayo got some shots falling, and Anthony Randolph brought some energy off the bench as the Nuggets had finally cooled off. I then moved Mayo to PG as Iverson had an off night, I brought in Morrow and Carney(Mayo/Morrow/Carney/Randolph/Hollins). This lineup became on fire as I would run Morrow/Carney on off-ball screens and they both drained a good 6 shots in a row. Denver called timeout and I put in a fresh pair of legs in Conley for Mayo. This became a fastbreak lineup as Hollins grabbed 11 boards and would outlet to Morrow or Carney to throw down some monster jams! I mounted a come back and halfway through the 4th, Melo heated back up going on an 18-4 run putting the nail in the coffin. Melo began to hear MVP chants as the Nuggets had a to fight for the W. I was proud of my young team though, as they fought back and almost came away with the win on the road.
Game 4: @ Sacramento - W (134-106)
Iverson finally showed up to play, dropping 39 pts, 7 ast, 3 stls against the Kings in an all out dominating performance! We got our first win, sending the Kings to 0-4.
Stats(Game Leaders)
Iverson: 39 pts, 7 asts, 3 rebs, 3 stls
Mayo: 17 pts, 4 asts, 4 rebs, 2 stls
Gay: 14 pts, 2 asts, 5 rebs, 1 stl
Thabeet: 10 pts, 3 asts, 10 rebs, 0 stls
Morrow: 16 pts, 0 asts, 1 reb, 1 stl
Carney: 14 pts, 1 ast, 2 reb, 1 stl
So far, this game is awesome! The games and atmosphere are sooo realistic! its crazy! I have a day off, then I'm off the Golden State to play the Warriors! The amount of 'little things' done to this game is just as good as the major things!
Game 5: @ Golden State - 7:00pm Tonight!
(Will Play Soon)
Memphis Grizzlies Record: 1-3
