Official EA Sports Roster Update/Discussion Thread

Hello all,

Here is a link to a new NHL 10 blog talking about the latest roster update, as well as a great video blog by Andy explaining the process of getting new NHL and AHL players into the game:

http://insideblog.easports.com/archi...-update-1.aspx

Please put any feedback on the update in this thread as well as any roster suggestions as EA will be checking this thread throughout the hockey season.

Thanks!

Thanks, Flyermania. I meant to create one, but it slipped my mind. I'll try to get some feedback up, as I'd like to get some position changes up to [hopefully] help with AI line assignments.

Ovechkin Shot Power Edit - Realistic

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMovJmIOWj4

Within the first 10 seconds of that video we hear OV's slapshot come in at 98.3 mph. Using the default slapshot power assigned to him by EA in the shooting drill the highest I can shoot with him is an 88.0

Granted, the shot he put up in the competition was with momentum but I don't think that NHL 10 accounts for momentum when shooting in game. Therefore, in order to achieve authenticity in game, OV's shot power should be raised by at least 3 points in slap shot power.

I haven't been able to find a speed for his wrist shot in real life but I think we have all seen that wrister go faster than the 72 mph he puts up in the shooting drill. Pretty sure it should be raised as well to get to the low 80s.

slapshot power in the shooting drill is dependent on shot power as well as slapshot power.

In the latest roster update does it fix some players positions or allows us to edit players positions? Because there are a handful of players who plays at least 2 different positions and if we can change it that would fix the AI Line assignment logic to a certain extent. I have some accurate depth charts but we need the abillity to change them.
