Icon1 Football4Natic's Post Patch #1 Custom Sliders

After waiting for the patch to drop knowing that slider effectiveness was going to be tweaked, I decided to wait for the patch and start from scratch. This has taken longer then usual due to the new patch which required me to start from scratch.

The way I work the sliders is that I start on all madden default and play a few games and after a couple of games on default I make notes of things that I see need tweaking.

I then start a new set of games all in franchise mode since I believe that the cpu plays differently in franchise mode as oppose to play now.

During the next few games I start to tweak during the game whenever I see consistency in an issue. Tons of games are played in order to get the balance right.

Some things I do which I am sure some do as well but a lot do not is I always use the ask madden for offense and defense. I pick any of the 3 plays given and go from there. I look at it as me running the play that the OC calls.

Unless is something dumb like kicking a FG when I need inches then I just run one of the 3 plays given.

Please be advise that this is not required to use these sliders. That is just how I play and it does not mean you must.

I love the patch but the biggest issue gameplay wise is the easy amount of yards you can get with kick returns. I returned 3 straight kick offs for td's in the same game before half time.

It seems that the flaw is on the outside because the 2 gunners are always getting pancaked. Some tell me to let the cpu run for me which I would not do and others tell me to super sim which I also will not do. I hope that patch 2 fixes that but for now I have made the kick off coverage team a slight smidge better but what I mostly do now is return the ball down the middle. It is harder to do this and if I bust it then I know it was harder then just hitting the outside.

But you can let the cpu run for you or super sim. It is all up to how you want to handle it.

Running the ball has become way to easy after the patch so major changes needed to be made.

I am a firm believer that qb accuracy cannot be to low. When throwing an out pattern to a wide open receiver you get them to catch the ball over the shoulder or slightly behind them which makes the receiver lose momentum and it just kills any of the momentum.

at the set I have the slider at, I feel that you can accomplish simple wide open throws at the rate it would work.

I do not do sub sliders so please ask another member for that. The only sub slider I work with is the OL sub out which I have at 0 because I hate seeing offensive lineman coming out of drives.

These are for franchise mode only and not for play now. The reason is due to the fact that you can control the defensive aggresiveness of teams by choosing all 32 teams. I go back and forth on this with the default being 50. I put all teams at 10 or at times 0 because even at 10 they just blitz to much on 3rd downs which leaves the tight end wide open. See what works for you but I leave it at 0 and problem solved.

Going to play a game with your sliders now. Sliders look good on paper .

I'll post the stats after the game.

Re: Football4Natic's Post Patch #1 Custom Sliders

I only played to halftime because it's like 3:30am now. Here are the stats at halftime:

PHI (me) vs NE (cpu)

D.Mcnabb - 8/19, 208 yds, 1 td, 1 int
T.Brady - 22/33, 239 yds, 1 td

B.Westbrook - 8 carries, 20 yards, 2.5 ypc, 1 td
S.Morris - 4 carries, 29 yds, 7.2 ypc

B.Westbrook - 3 catches, 42 yds
J.Maclin - 2 catches, 81 yds, 1 td
D.Jackson - 2 catches, 50 yds
K.Curtis - 1 catch, 35 yds

W.Welker - 12 catches, 87 yds
R.Moss - 3 catches, 61 yds, 1 td
K.Faulk - 2 catches, 56 yds
J.Galloway - 2 catches, 25 yds
S.Aiken - 2 catches, 11 yds

Welker was basically unstoppable. Seemed like every other pass Brady threw was to Welker. I'm using the coaching scheme sliders from another thread, but I might have to take them off because just about every play was a 5WR or 4WR shotgun set. As you can see, they only ran the ball 4 times the entire 1st half. Again, I think this is related to the coaching philosophy sliders that I have on now (controlling all teams, blah, blah).

Aside from the Cpu never rushing, the game played extremely well. I'm going to play a few games tomorrow and post the full stats.

Halftime Score:

PHI 24 - NE 16

Re: Football4Natic's Post Patch #1 Custom Sliders

I am assuming that you are playing pre season game right?

Well that is a high score but the Pats do pass a lot lot more then they run.

Whatever issue you see, just tweak the slider to rectify it for you.

Remember that we all have different skill sets and what works for you might not work for me or vice versa

I love low scoring games. With these sliders I get mostly low scoring games.

Keep playing and let me know what you changed.

Yeah, it was the first pre-season game of my new Browns franchise. Just wanted to test them with a decent quarterback, rather than Brady Quinn.

I'm going to start a new franchise without the coaching philosophy sliders and see if there is any difference.

Thanks man.

I'm about to try these out. I hope there isn't any robo QB. I'll let you know how things go later in the day. I won't be able to finish the game now since I have class and all.

Robo qb?

There is no robo qb with these

If there was I would not be comfortable putting the human defensive awareness at 0 and qb accuracy at 52

I see a bunch of people putting that qb slider for the cpu at 15-25 and that is not the way to go

you make the cpu throw ducks and picks left and right.

Picks are not a huge issue if you put defensive awareness at 0 and cpu qb accuracy at 51 or 52

I get torched by Brady and Brees and Manning but not with 85% completion percentage. They get theirs with tons of throws

But if you want to see all qb's have low completion percetages then look elswhere because that would not be the case here

These provide great stats and realistic results for the most part of you play the game right
