Depressing!!

I'm sure most people are not going shed a tear for me but I'm having a rough week.

My PS3 quit reading or even acknowledging discs (DVDs, Blu-Rays, or Games). The day I noticed this was the same day I pre-ordered and pre-paid for NBA 2k10.

Reading online that this error could be a software glitch, I thought it was a good idea to reset my PS3 to factory and reformat my system.

This did not work... causing me to lose all my game saves and caused delete 2k10's Draft Combine with its game save.

Don't cry for me, cause I'm already dead.

2K9's Development Drills and Quick Games constantly locked up my PS3. One day, it locked up and when I went to reset it, the system powered down but the light remained green for over ten minutes without ever fully shutting off. I flipped of the power switch, turned the system back on and suddenly I could only play things installed on the hard drive.

Same thing happened to me back in December while I was playing 2k9. I couldn't play any kind of discs. There's some videos on youtube that teach you how to manually open the PS3 and clean the blu ray lens. I tried but couldn't do it so ended up just buying a new slim Ps3 when they came out. Sony will fix the problem for 149 if you're out of the warranty. I was sick as hell when it happened to me so I know how you feel.

I'll buy your copy of 2k10 for half though

Do you have a decent PC? If so, at least you can play it on the PC until your PS3 gets fixed.

Call Sony, and they're going to want $150.

What sucks is its not even your fault, right?

I hate reading about people's consoles breaking down, and the company charging $100+ to repair it. We already paid $400+ for the damn thing. Are you under warranty? At least you can get it repaired for free if you are.

If not, stick that **** up Sony's ***.

And yes, I do have a PS3, and its never broken down on me. Just hate reading these stories.

Thanks, but no. No its not under warranty. Its my first console to break, ever and its a sad day. I think I might just buy a slim.
