The sad truth about baseball video games.

Ok. I buy MLB 2K9. I mean, I love baseball, I could deal with any game. I like the game the first couple of months.. Then, as i get the least bit into other games, i can't even think of getting back to touching this game. So i pick up thinking wat the hell, and i realize this game is horrible. Here's the major dilema:

There is no way to truly enjoy a baseball game.

- Xbox Live games... No one throws strikes. People hold up the stick and hit 50000 home runs.

- Franchise... No one wants to play 162 games. No one wants to sim 3/4 of their season. No one wants to play a short season with unrealistic stats.

-Online leagues..?.. Well i tried this. First of all 2k doesnt make u use a 5 man rotation. So, u have to switch the pitchers b4 every game. God forbid we forget one game. Second, there's no culture in an MLB league and i can't explain it, bottom line its not the solution.

Wats sad is im a 360er, and ill probably be buying this game next year.

Xbox Live games - Play people you know and in organized leagues. Problem solved.

Franchise - Many people here play 162 games. Many sim a number of games during the season. I myself love playing short seasons. Your list is of concerns is your list, not anyone else's.

Wats sad is im a 360er, and ill probably be buying this game next year - Rent it first like I do every year, and maybe save yourself some money. Don't be a consumer sheep, be an individual with some backbone, c'mon!

What's sad for me is that a enjoy an arcade game better than simulation like the Bigs 2 over The Show. I know that's not the norm on these sites but I guess now that I'm in my mid-30's I don't have the attention span or time to play a whole 9 inning game of the show when I could play a game of The Bigs 2 and be done in 30 minutes.

i also get tired of screwing around with sliders for a month...then i'm burnt out on the game because i'm too much of an idealist. the search for true simulation baseball kills me each year...

Actually, online was the only mode I could get into with 2K9-I usually had good competitive games with randoms.

Playing the cpu,all of the bugs shone through and made the game tough to take.

Re: The sad truth about baseball video games.

Well, I definitely have a different opinion from the OP.

Xbox Live- I don't play

Franchise- I want to play 162 games, I have a few times before. But the game has to be good enough to last that long though.

I'm almost the same, but it's really the only baseball game I'm considering next year.
