I've been a coach mode player since NCAA '05 on Xbox. The only time I changed was when I bought a current gen system and I didn't have that option. In those times, I switched to a player lock where I only controlled the QB and let Madden/Corso call all of my plays...which was loads of fun in and of itself.
Re: Coach Mode in Madden10
I absolutely love it. I have Madden as my defensive coordinator and I'm the HC/OC because I like to run a "spread" offense. For me, I prefer the coach mode of Madden10 to that of NFL Head Coach. I just want to call the plays and see the action unfold on the field. All of the other stuff is not for me.
I use MySkill sliders with the cpu skill at the default 50 and have had tremendous games as of late. I'm waiting on the broadcast cam to start a franchise.
If you want stats, here are the last 5 games I did on MySkill coach mode:

Went back and gave MySkill another shot for my coach mode pleasure. I just finished a pretty awesome game. It was DET (coach) @ SF and we won it with Stafford hitting Heller on the 10 yd TD pass with 0:00 on the clock.

Just had another good game using MySkill. The only thing about it is that there are times in the game when you just KNOW that what you're seeing is a result of your sliders constantly moving...like in this one when Stan Hill had consecutive drives end on the 1st play with interceptions by T.McGee. The overall result of the game is VERY pleasing save for the cpu-controlled human HB being a complete waste of virtual flesh lots of times....

One more game. I was the Lions playing host to the Cardinals. I like to spread the field so I ran mulitple WR sets and twins sets to force the D to show their hand.

And this will likely be my last game posting. Strangely, I've enjoyed each game and they have been pretty realistic. I was ripped a new one by Washington's ground game in this one but it's cool. You would think that, being a coach moder, I wouldn't like myskill because it makes the game more challenging and I let the cpu control my players but it's been fun.
