Movies is a good idea. I also made some teams from classic sitcoms, like the Andy Griffith Show (UNC at Mayberry Lawmen, using a logo I made featuring Andy and Barney), with the roster being made up of characters from the show.

Another team I created was for a fictional college with my last name in it.

For example, Jones University, Jones college, University Of Texas At Jones City, (UT Jones City), etc. You can make some cool personalized logos for that kind of team.

I like your idea of the last name colleges, mine would be funny because it's a real city in texas.

Really, that's cool. That adds some authenticity to the idea.

Re: Cool Ideas for Teams?

Search for Colleges in Europe, or make a team for a college that lost their football program like Long Beach State. Just think out side the box.

I made the Western University Cherokee. The back story is that we're an old frontier Indian school that is now a state university. I replaced Oklahoma State to make OU my rival, the idea being the historical animosity between the "Sooner" land grabbers and the native population already there (the Cherokee). Our colors are a deep reddish maroon and gray
