The Clock Doesn't Stop When You Run Out of Bounds.. WTF?

If you run out of bounds, the clock will stop, but then when you break your huddle for the next play, the clock starts running again before you snap the ball. Has anyone else noticed this?

pretty sure that is how it is in real life. I believe only within the last 2 minutes of a half it stops when going out of bounds. if the player goes out of bounds, the clock will stop. but once the ball is spotted, the clock will start again. unless the rule has changed again?

You know I thought that might be the case and it was just something I didn't know about. And... my ignorance has been proven. Thanks for the explanation.

but the game doesn't have a 40 second clock like in real life(because the clock randomly skips from say 36 to 25 without doing the same on the game clock)...and the year the clock started on kicks and on changes of possessions, game didn't have it. It's strange they get some rules right, and some don't

Ball Out Of Bounds (Rule 3-2-5-a-12). When a ball is carried or fumbled out of bounds, the game clock will stop, as always. Beginning in 2008 the game clock will start on the referee’s signal when the ball is ready for play, not on the snap. In the last two minutes of the half, however, the clock will start on the snap as before, preserving the ability of the offensive team to maximize strategic use of the clock.

On 09, the :40 second clock rule change came too late for the team to implement it. Haven't heard any explanation why it wasn't implemented this year, especially since it should be fairly simple to port that code from Madden.

I was going to post this earlier but I complain about this game here to much. I have found out that if you are getting hit as you are going out it will not stop but if you go out without anyone touching you it will stop.
