Is it bad programming or mediocre technology

Would you say that the ai problem is bad programming or just computers arent smart enough to make right decisions and never will be.

Like the trade logic and cpu ai. I'm wondering if Ea is doing the best they can just technology isn't there yet. Or does ea have the resources to make solid ai but just dont want to do it? Or what is it?

IMO its the programing namely the ratings... thats causing alot of problems

One of the things I think has been an issue over at EA for years is that the various development teams don't seem to speak to each other. If you look at the presentations made on FIFA and their transfer logic this year, it's pretty astounding. So the technology is there, but perhaps the Madden team hasn't been able to have access to it to tune it for their game. It's one of the things I've never understood about how EA runs. The imbalance of absolutely spectacular games to ones that make you scratch your head (I'm looking at you NBA Live) is extremely puzzling.

I personally blame Ian Cummings. Madden needs a development lead that brings something new to the table. An innovator. A prime example is NBA Live 10. The series had been floundering for the past couple of years so the EA brass decided to hire directly from their competition, Mike Wang from NBA 2k.

This isn't a gripe, it's an honest question.

I say the programming is flawed in the gameplay department. I think it's salvageable though. There is enough good stuff in Madden, but not enough of it.

Everything looks like it halfway works. Just need to get it the rest of the way.

Programming. They have all of the tech that they need.
