Sacks ruing the game for anyone else?

I was in week 17 of my franchise. Then I looked at my sack stats and noticed I was in last by over twice as many sacks I had. Then i came back here to see if anyone was having the problem too. And they were, there was tons of topics.

At first I thought sliders would be a quick an easy fix. They helped a little bit. Then I thought up my tweak and that helped the first two games than I guess the AI caught on or something after a few games the tweak turned useless.

That took me back to square one. How can I improve sacks without being a cheeser. I don't want to dive, or line up my DE next to the other DE. I just want to have four down lineman create pressure, get a sack or two, then mix up some blitzes and get a few more sacks.

So far I have tried at least 20 different things just to get sacks, but not one thing has had a lasting effect. They all just acted like the other when it came to results. 2 sacks a game, both by the CPU team. I hardly ever get one sack, and when I do, its an engage eight or a coverage sack that took 15 seconds.

So is anyone like me and just kind of playing a quick play here and there to get their Madden fix, but you can't play franchise anymore because the sacks are driving you crazy? I am hoping EA can patch this and make the QB only throw a duck pass from a blindside hit. Right now it is ridiculous that a QB would even attempt to pass the ball when they saw the blitzer coming right at them.

If EA can patch this issue, then I already have my sliders figured out mostly. I just need my sacks to be fixed and I will be a happy camper. I am not expecting each team to have 4 sacks a game. I just want my Redskins with Haynesworth, Carter, Orakpo, and Griffin who are 99, 85, 85, 84 to get 2-3 sacks a game and maybe 1 a game when I play the Giants. I'll even be happy if I get zero sacks a game as long as I still get in the middle of the pack by seasons end.

So, who else is in the same boat?

Try using a cover 2 or cover 3. The QB tends to hold the ball longer and allows the d line to break through. That really boosted my sack totals after I discovered it late in my franchise season. Hell, it got my DT Tommy Kelly to the pro bowl with about 8 sacks I believe.

Nah, I get at least 3 sacks a game (if it's a good one) with default sliders. Not sure where this complaint is coming from.

I am in the same boat 1000%. I play with the Bears and am currently in last place for sacks at week 10 of franchise year 2. This has become so frustrating that I think I need therapy now. I have tried everything conceivable at this point. I do not like to play the line so I have to rely on the CPU to get the sacks and it is really infuriating. I have tried putting pass reaction at 100 to try and get the CPU QB to hold onto the ball and it did not work, I have tried not controlling any player and it did not work, I have tried all of the slider sets. Unfortunately there is no fix. If I blitz the CPU QB will unload right away for a short pass and if I rush three and try for the coverage sack he will wait and wait until I get there and then make a throw or the dreaded duck. I really like this game so I keep coming back but this issue is about to wear me out.

What team are you using and are you controlling a lineman or linebacker?

I get some sacks too, unfortunately they're usually:

QB holding the ball 5-7 seconds first and then someone getting him.

Having to hit the dive button to trigger the "submarine the QB" animation, which is a totally unrealistic and unsatisfying way to play.

Whenever I make a clean, legit move to sack the QB the QB gets rid of the ball or throws one of those lame ducks which SHOULD be called intentional grounding, but never is.

Rarely, do I get a good, legit, satisfying sack. The cheating CPU gets to intentionally ground the ball with no flag with intentional grounding slider at 100.

I don't know, in my current franchise with the bengals I get no pressure but then again Michael Johnson is my top d-end and pretty much my best pass rusher. When I was playing as the rams I had traded for Kamerion Wimbley and moved him to DE and both him and long had over 20 sacks each of the 3 years I played. My first year Wimbley actually set the single season sack record with 25.

This really needs to be looked at (probably is).

I'm playing on All-Madden and getting a ton of sacks (just not wins). I'm the Bengals and drafted a real nice DE in year 2. Michael Johnson and this guy are tearing it up. Through 10 games they have 22 combined sacks. I just dive at the QB if I have a chance to make a play.
