After watching the Live videos:

Is it just me or does the overall animation/movement of players remind you of 2k? It was eerie, to me, when I was watching the dribble move video. It reminded me so much of 2k especially as the players took the ball to the basket (it seemed as if the collision detection was all messed up like it is in 2k.)

Does anyone else see what I mean?

Now, I like 2k's animations as much as the next man, but what I've noticed in 2k is animation = less control. I really hope that's not the case ESPECIALLY on defense in the paint. LeBron's dunk in the 'dribble move' video looks totally wack.

Re: After watching the Live videos:

Double post: I feel you on the Mike thing, but it's uncanny. It shouldn't be THAT much alike especially when it seems like they took one of the things Live actually had over 2k (simplistic dribbling... how many times to you see people pull that showtime ish in the nba?) and changed it to look prettier.

Look, you should not be able to in any game press one button to put you into some sort of a 'super powered' animation. And to me, size up in 2k was wack. This looks about the same. the crosses they show in the video

(here by the way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBGyCcCQpug )

are all showtime highlights. Of course, as a sim elitist I don't like that. I am gonna sh*t a brick if next year we have two games that have wack collision detection and poor on ball defense.

Edit: one last comment. HELP DEFENSE PLZ? Did you see KG guarding Varejao(sp) for 3 while Bron drove? In the NBA people don't let guys do and1 mixtape ish at the top of the key. heh... this makes me saddddd.

I don't see it but it could be the Mike Wang Influence.

Re: After watching the Live videos:

I don't think it looks like 2K at all it just Live looks like real basketball for once Lol. Its been a while since people could say that.

Both games are trying to simulate the NBA its just that for the first time on this current gen both games are shaping up to do just that, visually at least I can't speak for other areas though.

Yeh, I agree with Jano...NBA Live 10 is looking like a solid basketball game from what we have seen, but the big question is if it will give NBA 2K10 a run for its money in the 2009-2010 season.

Re: After watching the Live videos:

They're going to look alike because they're both basketball games trying to be realistic.

And I don't understand your post/rants.....you're sort of bashing Live and 2K at the same time and making assumptions that Live will be animation heavy or something like that?

I do agree nba 2k9 was animation heavy and you had to fight the controller. From the looks of it and what ea is sayin that is you can break out of animations and mix up alot of stuff..Epic..That was 1 of my main gripes about nba 2k9 and the fact that it is slugish
