2K10 Ratings For Players.

A debate about this in the other thread had me thinking so I decided to make this thread.

I personally feel 2k rates the best players too high in this game for example Lebron and Kobe. I feel no one should be a 99 overall. If I was the game developer I would rate the best players in the mid 90s or even lower. Kobe and Lebron would be in the mid 90s.

Also I don't have a problem if 2K drop some of the all-star caliber players ratings to the mid to low 80s in some cases high 70s. How would you rate players in the game?

Re: 2K10 Ratings For Players.

With the 50-90 system I would rate them as so

95+: Tier 1 Superstars (LeBron, Wade, Kobe)
90-94: Tier 2 Superstars (KG, Duncan, Howard, Paul)
85-89: Perennial All-Stars (Bosh, Steve Nash, Roy,)
80-84: Borderline All-Stars (Mo Williams, Hedo, Lewis)
78-79: Starter
76-77: Borderline Starter/6th Man
73-75: Role Player
50-72: Bench Warmer

I feel like the ratings are way too high in the game. Ike Diogu, Marcus Williams, CJ Watson etc type players should be in the 60s. It's impossible to sign any player to a minimum. There should be a better correlation between salary and overall rating

i think in order for ratings to work correcty they need to weight different ratings differently. Ie most players in the nba are great athletes. But just cause you can jump high and run fast doesn't make you a good player. I think overall ratings should reflect this

this is exactly how it should be and i think there should be no 99 rated players the top rating should be 97

Lebron Kobe..Great Players but do not deserve rating of 99's overall if there attributes dont reflect it...

Re: Ratings Thread..Lets Bicker here

So your saying that 99 is a mythical greatness that the best player in the league currently shouldn't be?

I see it like this. Every year this game gets made. They put in attributes to equate with animations, percentages etc....

The best player in the league and possibly more than one should be rated 99 because it is the highest possible ability level in the league right now.

Re: Ratings Thread..Lets Bicker here

Also, a 99 rated player should play like a 99 rated player. Kobe, IMO plays like a 92 rated player in NBA 2k9, but guys like Danny Granger will play like a 99 rating because of certain attributes he has that are superior than Kobe.

That's a frustrating aspect of the game. Shooting, block/steal and rebounding/height ratings dominate NBA 2k9.
