Interested in what NCAA Basketball 10 brings to the table this year

I'll preface this post by saying that I'm a 2K guy when it comes to basketball games (I was always neutral in the football). I was disappointed just like everyone else when 2K ceased the College Hoops series. I played the demo of NCAA BBall 09 numerous times, and while it wasn't enough for me to want to purchase it, I did see some elements in that game that were missing from/better than what the College Hoops series offered.

I've been checking out NBA Live 10 updates. I've already decided to go with NBA 2K10, but I still will want to play a college bball game throughout the season. Seeing some of the elements that the Live crew plans to bring this year, I'm very optimistic that NCAA 10 will deliver a very good experience. Typically, the NCAA games from both developers bring some of the features over from their NBA counterparts, and I'm guessing NCAA 10 won't be any different.

Anyone else feel the same way?

I'm right there with ya. I had been a dedicated 2K College Hoops fan and was really bummed with I found out they discontinued the series. I could have made the jump to NBA, but I'm a college fan first and foremost. I played the demo for NCAA Basketball 09 and decided, while it wasn't as good as 2K, I'd give the full game a shot.

Ultimately, I was disappointed and pleasantly surprised at the same time. I had played the March Madness series at a friends and it was laughably bad. So to see them ditch the series and start over again was a great idea. It was missing some great things from the 2K series: gameplay wasn't as smooth, animations weren't nearly as good, a lot of little glitches like the brackets being completely inaccurate, and the presentation was severely lacking. But, it did do a lot of good things too: Commentary was improved from 2K, game tempo was a great touch, stadiums were done better, and the college atmosphere felt stronger than 2K.

There hasn't been much said about this years version, but I've seen a few previews about NBA Live 10 and it looks like they've focused on gameplay since getting one of the 2K developers. I know last years college game used the same engine as Live with just a couple tweaks, so this years will probably be similar. As with most EA sports games I'm hoping for the best, preparing for the worst (NCAA & Madden have been let downs again) ...but if gameplay is as improved as the couple previews have commented, then it should be a solid offering this year.

I'm the same way! IMO, NCAA BB 09 was the most improved sports game last year with lots of room still to grow. I hope we can get some sort of info relatively soon on it. Live 10 looks pretty good, so I'm anxious for news.

In response to a number of comments/questions about when we will be releasing info/answering questions about NCAA 10, a tentative ball park time is somewhere mid to late September.

I'm guessing you meant Nov. not Sept because I would be expecting to be playing a demo by now Lol

No, I think Sept. is right. He means that will be when they start releasing game info, sizzle videos, begin community interaction where they can actually talk about what is in game, etc.

According to EB Games, they have the release date as Dec. 1, so starting to hype the game in Sept. would be correct. Demo probably in mid-November is my guess.

Oh wow I just read the actual post. I saw the words release and I thought it was about the game itself Lol. Now it makes sense because he was talking about releasing info.
