Icon5 Rapid Progression Issue for PS3?

My cousin says that the players on PS3 will jump up a lot in rating every year and that it happens on all teams. Does anyone know if this is an issue or could it be my cousin just being his (typical) d-bag self?

Re: Rapid Progression Issue for PS3?

The difference with this year's game versus years before is that players progress MORE each year(in overall rating) than in years before.

It's not all players, and it certainly isn't limited to incoming freshman OR people on the original rosters.

If a guy gets redshirted, things like speed/acceleration/catch/route-running will go up, but things like awareness don't go up as much if they're not on the field.

I don't think it's an issue, really.

I've been playing a 10-team dynasty(all 3-star schools from each major conference) and am the "coach" of each team. I'm in season 4 now.

Not every team's players progress at a high rate(it depends on the team, frankly).

I've noticed that players that get hurt for the season don't get a lot better if they sit out the whole year(they'll only go up 3-4 overall whereas a freshman that sees the field might go up 5-7 overall).

It feels intuitive and realistic. How is this bad?

Re: Rapid Progression Issue for PS3?

Its not absolutely horrible for the first two or three season if your using some re-rated rosters...(close to 130-160 players rated 90+ ea. year)...but then at year four it jumps tremendously (340 90+ ea.). The super-progression creates way too many 99's...(default roster there were about 20 after year one, and more and more every year)...the biggest issue is that teams become virtually equal.

Kent State can beat Florida because they have gone from a C- to a B+ while Florida is still an A+

Things that I noticed was the number of A teams goes from about 3 or 4 from defaults, to about 13-16...the majority of schools fall in the B- to B+ category...while the bottom 12 teams are all ranked at C or C+...no D teams....

Thats all well and good if this was madden or the NFL...you can buy it because parity is the name of the game...but in NCAA there is a distinct differenced between the talent levels at the school and with the superprogression you play virtually the same game, against super-star rosters....It makes telling who is the best skill rated players in the game impossible again (340 90+ players) and I'm sure it will mess up who gets selected to go to the NFL Draft in Madden, if not messing up the ratings themselves (has yet to be seen).

So yea...I think its a HUGE issue for a college football game whose bread and butter is dynasty mode.

This sums up the feelings of most of us perfectly.
